This house was just perfect for our needs, gathering a few cousins and their parents for seeing the redwoods, some time on a near-by beach, and swimming in near-by swimming holes. The host had a wealth of information, both ahead of time and in a binder on site. The house was clean, comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. (No dishwasher, but otherwise it has everything you could possibly really need to cook for a crowd Grill is older but adequate.) Nice firepit in the backyard, too. Extremely easy place to stay and easy location from which to get to just about anything in the Eureka area. Kids were thrilled to find banana slugs in the yard. I was thrilled to find info on banana slugs in a book on the shelf! We only went down to check out the river from the backyard once, but it was cool and we found fossils easily. It is a river, not a creek, and it is a ways out of direct sight of the backyard, so supervision of the kids is a must. Lovely place! I would stay here again in a heart beat.
