Really enjoyed the wines here. Nice property to stroll around on. And very informative staff. They have a tour of the property you can do, we didn't have time for it this time around, but will surely do it next time!
Halter Ranch Vineyard is a great spot to visit. This is a not a "glass palace" show piece, but, instead, a historic ranch from the mid-1800s, well away from the main vineyard cluster, and very rural and peaceful. The Victorian farm house is of interest, as is the covered bridge they have added. And, the wine was good and the staff friendly. They are building a new tasting room and bed and breakfast facility, so a longer visit will be possible in the future. Well worth the trip.
We are so glad we stopped at Halter Ranch! This was by far one of our favorite wineries in the Paso area. The winery itself is beautiful, and the wines were fantastic! We ended up joining the wine club and cannot wait to return to attend one of their famed dinners in their old, historic barn.
We have visited here several times (though we live close to Napa/Sonoma. LOVE the rural country setting with heritage oaks, Victorian farm house, and friendly tasting room staff. There are several places to take your tasting glass outside and enjoy the lovely setting. One patio is overflowing with hummingbirds buzzing about. Beautiful!
Their wines are also the BEST we had in two days of tasting at about 7 other places.
With the many, many vineyards around it is sometimes hard to pick where to go. Halter Ranch has great wines...our FIRST priority. They are building a new tasting room on the hill next to their wine club tasting area. The views are amazing! Also, a beautiful covered bridge adds to the grounds. This is a not to miss place to stop for wine tasting!
