Wow! Not only is this condo in a fantastic location with a great view from both balconies, it was also so well stocked that we hardly wanted for anything! From kitchen supplies to electronics to beach supplies, Diane has proved to be the perfect condo host. It was so easy just to move in and relax. A+ for this rental!
The best thing about C309 condo in North Coast Village is the two-level set-up and the bonus of a second, rooftop balcony. It gives the people staying upstairs in the master bedroom some privacy from the living area one level down. I can see that being handy whether the condo is occupied by two couples, or by parents and kids. Having two single beds, rather than one queen, in the lower bedroom was also very handy in my case, giving each child their own bed to sleep in.
The balconies overlook the large pool, which my kids enjoyed using, even on breezy evenings in early March. The balconies also have ocean views and we got some great sunsets from either balcony. The upper rooftop balcony is large, but because it is populated with two patio tables instead of one (which would probably suit most renters just fine), it feels unnecessarily crowded.
The kitchen and its amenities were clean, but fairly basic. This is not a kitchen with gourmet equipment, which was OK for my kids and I, but it might be lacking if I was attempting more sophisticated entertaining.
Dealing with Diane was easy - she was quick to respond to my queries in the initial booking stage. The check-in instructions were easy to follow and hassle-free. The owners have gone to some effort to compile a binder on local attractions, especially restaurants. This was probably more handy five years ago, before everyone had an app on their phone that would do most of the searching for them, but the effort is still appreciated.
The one downside to this rental is there were a number of "little things" that needed attention. No single problem was worth a call to the owners to get fixed while we were there, so I didn't have contact with the owners during our stay, but the overall impression the problems give is one of scrimping on upkeep. Some examples include the vertical blinds for the two balcony entrances are problematic; they don't open and close easily, and the ones covering the balcony door on the main level are actually missing a few slats, kind of like a comb missing a few teeth. Other fixtures, such as a couple of lamps, did not work or had switches that were broken. I had to find and reset the router to get the wi-fi to talk to my phone, but that was not a big deal.
This rental was one of the less expensive ones I found in the area, probably moreso given it has the two floors, so for the budget I thought what we got for the price was quite reasonable. I would like to see a few of the "little things" better maintained, but for the price they wouldn't stop me from returning.
