Review of USC Hotel
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 9 Feb 2020
This is an oasis in an area where you need to pay attention to your safety. The hotel has good front desk staff, everything works, the breakfast is good, and you cross the road (use the crossing at Starbucks) to enter the USC campus. It could do with some refurbishment of rooms, elevators etc, but in that location look no further.
Date of stay: February 2020
Room Tip: For quietness, I would chose the side facing the freeway, not the campus

The hotel is very nice. The rooms are large and clean.

If you take parking from the hotel you will be charged $25 / night.
However you can buy a day permit directly from the garage with $14 / day. The only thing is that daily permits from the garage are only valid until 6AM next morning. They can sell you permits for 3 days maximum at a time.

If you stay more than 3 days you can go across the street , at the Transportation Office of the University and buy for as many days you want.

They can also sell you a monthly permit for $111. Just don´t tell them you stay at the hotel because they might ask you to buy the $25 permit instead.

Just to make clear : it is the SAME parking , since the hotel is owned by USC. The only thing is that the $25 will get you access to the second floor of the parking, while the $14 will get you access from the 3rd floor up. Since there is an elevator, no issues whatsoever.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback. We are pleased to hear that our large and clean rooms set the tone for a great stay!

In regards to the parking information, the $ 14-day permit is only valid until 11:59 pm on the date of purchase. Any vehicles parked after that time and throughout the night would require an overnight guest parking pass.

Our parking structure also offers hourly parking, for $2 per hour (maximum 2 hours).

Should you have any questions or need assistance, our team remains available to you at any time.

Warmest regards,

Guest Experience Specialist

Will continue to pay too much money to stay at the USC Hotel because of its location next to USC and the fact that is pretty much the only hotel that is clean walking to USC. The bath rooms really meed to be updated. Slow drains, old tub and waterdamaged bottom of the doors.

Booked a room overlooking campus.

We have no negative comments other than that the room could use new windows.

Service at check in and check out was good, the room was clean and quiet, the lobby was very nice.

Breakfast at the restaurant next door was typically expensive but it was very good.

Yes, it cost $25 a night to park, which is a great value. And they let us stay parked until 4:00pm when we left campus at no additional cost.

This establishment is more expensive than I would like, but it's immediately across the street from USC, which makes it an ideal base camp when visiting and the convenience more than makes up for the cost.

Overall a very good experience and I just booked again for our next trip next month,

The USC hotel was a great spot for a brief one night visit to attend a concert at the Shrine. Within walking distance, it's really convenient, and the rooms are very comfortable, clean and quiet, although the two double beds (as opposed to two queens) made for a tight fit for our family. Enjoyed the Exec. Level lounge with evening wine and morning continental breakfast

Location is the best if you're looking for convenience to USC. Hotel used to be a Radisson. Hard conversion still needed, but the soft conversion is spot on. Mattresses are comfortable, bed linens fabulous, and robes are true 5-star hotel quality. The staff from the front desk to housekeeping were very friendly and helpful.

Room tip: If you are bothered by street noise ask for a room away from Figueroa.
