We always visit our son for his birthday in November. He lives in the LA area and we usually stay at an airport hotel. This time we decided to try downtown. We found the LA Grand in Trip Advisor and thought we’d give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience: from the lobby, the restaurant, the fabulous room, the service, and most importantly, the location! We found several fun bars, the library, restaurants, and shops within an easy walk.

We are looking forward to coming back and can’t wait until next November. Hopefully the world will be back to a better place then. I really hope all the hotel employees are doing ok.

Compared to other hotels in L.A. the L.A. Grand hotel is mediocre. No bathrobes even upon request, no slippers, they are really not trying to make you comfortable. Yes, the lobby is beautiful but that’s about it. You could stay at another hotel in the area and come check out the lobby and go back where they are more hospitable. I had to call for housekeeping after being out for several hours just to get my room cleaned. Very disappointing.

Needed a Hotel in the downtown Los Angeles area due to a new family member in the hospital and was extremely impressed when we arrived at the L.A. Grand Hotel. We were greeted by Emmanuel when we first pulled up with a luggage cart and I believe he must be part of the management team as he was wearing a suit and tie. The check in process was quick and easy, but when I got to my room with Emmanuel behind me with all of the luggage I found out that my room did not have a bath tub, but within 5 min. Emmanuel was back up with a set of keys to a nicer room that had a bath tub and informed me that there was no charge for the up grade. My son and his family were in an adjoining room and both of our rooms were clean and very nicely decorated. My son and myself walked down 4 blocks to a shopping area with many stores and restaurants and felt completely safe doing so as this hotel is in the financial district of downtown. Will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to L.A.
