Rarely write reviews but 1st night of 2 night stay & I’ sadly disappointed. Room is lovely but fireplace not working which would’ve been nice on cold night. Never got back 2 me & had to place call...still waiting. So far the Bistro has to be one of the worst restaurants I’ve been to. I was sat next to a screaming 3 yr old who continued to scream for the entire time I was there. All the guests around the table were baffled & the staff did nothing. I’m a mother of two & remember those days well but would immediately remove my child who was having a tantrum. I waited 30 minutes for my cocktail, waiter never came back, & had to ask when we would get appetizer after 40 minutes. My bill was over $120 for bad service & noise piercings atmosphere. Avoid at all cost!

AMAZING ! I couldn't stay at the hotel (TEAR) because it was sold out at the conference rate but I was there for 3 days. The staff and service are unparalleled for guests and day visitors. From the bell desk, asking directions, greetings by the attendants or staff at their cafe and restaurants. There was a reception after our first day of meetings; all the food stations were delicious and plentiful and the view amazing on the Ocean deck.

Wonderful hotel/resort few miles away from ( wonderful ) Santa Barbara. Excellent location - directly at the ocean with stunning views. Our room was big, quiet, had comfortable bed. All members of staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner in hotel restaurant - service and food were amazing. We will stay at the Ritz Carlton Bacara again - with great pleasure. Highly recommended.

I spend about 140 nights a year in hotels and have stayed in some nice places including about 50 % of the Ritz Carltons in the US and the Caribbean. This is probably the best hotel ever. Great staff, great rooms, pools, landscaping and food.

The staff were fine and the grounds were great.

The hotel is outdated and the rooms are poorly maintained, small and dark.

The spa was being renovated (with jack hammers) and door to the lounge was broken.

Food was spilled in a corridor the night before and was still not cleaned up at noon the following day.

There is a sliver of a beach but if you walk on it your feet will be covered in oil.

The safe did not work and it took three phone calls and more than one hour to fix.

This is a Ritz Carlton in name only. The rates are very high while the overall experience is very low.

Be prepared to walk away once you arrive. We spent over $1,000 a night and we wished we had stayed somewhere else.

Thank you so much for your kind comments about our Ladies and Gentlemen and beautiful grounds.

Since we have transitioned to The Ritz-Carlton we have been working on a number of enhancements to the resort. I am sorry that you were inconvenienced by the closure of the Spa which has since been reopened.

California beaches are natural and protected. Tar drops are a naturally occurring substance that from time to time affects most California beaches. I am also sorry that you only visited our beach during high tide.

Kindly contact Morgan Melanson at 805-968-0100 so we may assist you further. I hope you will allow us to restore your faith in The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara.
