It was fun reading and hearing about the history of glass beach. There is more glass than sand or rock, and it is so fun to look through. It was also interesting seeing odd parts melted/molded into the rocks from the dump. Very worthwhile stop.

Disappointed . It is kinda cool, but people abuse it. When I was there, people were digging to find cool glass. You are not supposed to take the glass out of there. I can see taking a piece or two as a souvenir, but they were digging! Anyway, there are seals on the rocks and a beautiful view. But, there is also fresh broken bottles - like people are adding to the glass beach by being a**holes.
Sorry, still something cool IF you are in the area.

Put on your shorts and the surest footed footwear you have, and prepare to have hours of fun seeking the perfect glass shard collection. While in the most accessible coves the glass pieces are tiny, if you persist and hit some of the farther coves, climbing over rock and logs, you will find those larger pieces, even as they are, in truth, dwindling. Watch the tides so you won't get stranded.

We went towards late afternoon but all the glass was very small. The kids had a great time picking up glass but the parking lot was sketchy; lots of smelly seaweed, and no big enough pieces of glass to make it worth mentioning.
