This downstairs apartment in a home in El Cerrito made a perfect "home-base" for us while we visited the San Francisco Bay area. The BART station was a little less than 2 miles from the home so we would drive our rental car and park at the station. The home was also near Wildcat Canyon Regional Park--a great place for hiking. There were 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, a small living room with a futon and a "smart" TV, a small kitchen and one bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. The entry was on the side of the house. The only negative for us was that the people upstairs would arise very early and their walking around was pretty noisy. The owner was very nice, helpful and responsive. He graciously offered us the downstairs apartment when we had inquired about the upstairs one and it was already rented (we waited to find a place to stay after arriving in the bay area so it was very last-minute). He took care of a couple small issues we had immediately, and he made some very helpful recommendations of places to see and the best way to do it, great places to eat and where to get some shopping done. We had a great time in the area and enjoyed having this clean, comfortable apartment in the cute, quiet, hilly neighborhood to come home to each evening.
