We found this little gem on trip advisor and thought we’d give it a go. The road to the farm goes through dozens of olive trees and seems to be going nowhere, but follow the google map’s location as it is bang on.
When we got there we were greeted warmly by our hostess who showed us around the snail enclosure. She gave a fascinating insight into snail farming and was happy to answer our myriad of questions.
We were then offered a plate of the succulent creatures to try. Cooked the Cretan way. In fact what we got was a light lunch with feta and tomatoes, a garlic mash, bread and Cretan snails. Delicious. Plus they provided their very nice home made wine.
Over our meal we conversed with the owners who both spoke very good English. It was nice having a conversation with these local friendly people about life in general.
This is well worth a visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would recommend a visit as it is something out of the ordinary tourist trail.

As a group of nine people we stopped at the farm. I wish I could remember the name of the couple running the farm, since both of them are so passionate about their endeavor. There are only two snail farms left on Crete, and I’m sure the hard work and visitor friendliness from the owner couple will prevail. The man showed us the “snail house” and explained his approach to snail farming. The woman made us a lunch in true Createan fashion that was excellent, even that this was the first time I ate snails! There are many things to do in Crete but this is a unique experience that shall not be missed!

Like several other reviews, I found the Snail Farm by accident. I saw the numerous "Snail Farm and Fun" along the road and thought, "That is something different." Driving on the narrow road through the olive orchard I found the place. Was greeted by the wife of the husband and wife team and given a tour of the "farm." Very interesting!!! I was then treated to a lovely and LARGE traditional Cretin lunch including fresh snails in their out door covered porch. The conversation of this very warm and welcoming couple was as good as the lunch. This is something that is a must do if you are in the area.

We found it only by accident - we had seen a sign by the road. As we had never seen a snail farm before, we gave it a try. And it was great decision!

You can see there how the snails are breeded and talk with owners. They are absolutely amazing, nice and friendly. So we got a lecture about snail, excursion around the farm and worderfull talk. We even came back again two days later. You can taste the snails if you want (coocked, of course, but absolutely fresh).

We really recomend to go there. You will see a lot and you can meet wonderfull people.
Oh, and they have a lot of kittens and two nice dogs ;-)

Nice snail farm, but that's not the point about visiting this place. This is your chance to have a relaxed conversation in a beautiful outdoor place with a very cute, intelligent & hospital local couple. This was definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Crete. Do yourself a big favor and DO NOT MISS IT.
We miss them already.
