“Hideaway heaven”

Easy to find with directions from the owner, this little gem is hidden approx four miles outside Jedburgh. So well hidden that a taxi driver who had driven in the area for 15 years had never picked up at the address before! A car is definitely a necessity! Inside was spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and bathroom, but the jewel in this crown is the large upstairs living room. Books and games provided for wet days, but we were too busy to take advantage. The view from both picture windows was spectacular, though the pond could only be seen from the kitchen. The horse in the field next to the cottage came out to greet us, and grouse and pheasant could be seen in the fields. There are also foxes, rabbits and badgers on the property, but we were not fortunate enough to see any of these. Would recommend for someone who wants to get away from it all, but this property is near enough to Jedburgh for anyone who wants to see the sights of the Borders and beyond.

“Wonderfully peaceful”
Reviewed 29 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

A clean, easy rental on a working farm. The property is up side down to make the most of the views.
Close to the town, but in a rural location.
Very comfortable.
