We visited this restaurant on our first night, given it was so highly rated on TripAdvisor, and our guidebook.
It doesn't open until 9pm, late even by Spain standards, and four couples arrived at the same time.
Service was pretty efficient, but not warm and friendly.
The food was good, classic cooking, and quite on the heavy side, and a little pricey.
Overall, whilst good, not sure it deserves top spot on TripAdvisor for Olite- restaurant Merindad was better quality and price.

On our trip to Olite we came here on reviews on TripAdvisor. I can echo the service reviews which we found rushed and a little too unfriendly. The venison was some of the best tasted. The wine on the expensive side. Just short of the best in town. Try the Hotel Merindad Restaurant instead.

Casa Zanito is on the first floor of the small hotel and is long and narrow.
It doesn't open until 9pm for dinner and 4 x 2 persons turned up around the same time and single waitress was rushing around to keep us all happy - she did a very good job until another waiter came on at 10pm.
I tried to order a Gran Reserva bottle of wine but the waitress brought the Crianza version, opened it and poured it before I had a chance to check the label, but luckily it was very nice (and half the price!)
I had two starters - the peppers with ham and soft boiled egg - which was lovely, followed by the white beans cooked Navarrese style, which was also tasty.
Nice evening with good food and nice wine.

We stopped for lunch in this beautiful historical town and this is a great place to eat a menu for 25 euros each. All types of vegetables are available and fish and meat are also delicious. It is better to make a reservation.

We chose the set meal. The food was amazing; from the starter to the desserts! The best meal I had in Spain.
