I have stayed here on many occasions when working at Saeview Marina which is about 5 minutes drive away. Jackson street is literally a 5 minute walk up the street and there are numerous restaurants, cafes and bars to get a meal, coffee or a drink. I like this place as it is close to everything this side of Wellington.

Room tip: I like the ground floor rooms that open on to the car park as its easy access for bags etc

Nice hotel with good facilities and very well maintained
I note the comments regarding traffic noise and whilst the property is on a main road the traffic is never that heavy indeed I hardly noticed it
Room cleaning very good with ample pillows (a particular like of mine)
The water temp does seem to vary but all fine it's just an adjustment thing
Gym not great but adequate for this type of property, the display on the treadmill needs sorting and in the end we are talking home use kit and not top of the range commercial life fitness

BK"S Esplanade motel is just that located on the esplanade going around the upper edge of the Wellington harbor. Ground floor unit with parking in the courtyard. One room kitchenette with 2 recliner chairs. Small patio to watch traffic go by, Modern tile bathroom with spa tub. Limited counter and small sink in the bathroom. No AC, tissues, paper towels. Laundry on site. Manager pleasant and helpful. Traffic noise could be a problem for light sleepers.Fan available at desk if you ask. Recommend for an overnight. Hope this helps.

Clean, Neat and Tidy Accommodation with all the amenities you need.
Loved the spa tub, got to soak and relax with some complementary wine after a long tough day.
Excellent service and friendly staff. Quiet and peaceful with lovely views of the harbour from the rooms facing the harbour.
The only thing i would recommend, would be better pillows.
Centrally located to Wellington and Upper, Lower Hutt. Traffic to get out of there on weekday mornings are a nightmare.

Room tip: Spa and harbour views, however there is a bit of traffic noise in the mornings and afternoons for the harbour view rooms.

Perhaps we had the worst room in the place (819) but the manager wouldn't change us to one of the larger rooms. The space was way too cramped for two adults and two suitcases. But even with the larger rooms, there would be noise from the traffic all night. There is no air-conditioning so one has to keep the window or door open to get air. The internet was spotty. We found nothing to like about this place - certainly the worst lodging we have had in NZ.
