We booked through the motel as were needing to arrive at 10.30pm from Rotorua. We quoted Agodas price of $164 and they said $169 so we said yes.
The place stunk of too much deoderiser, moths everywhere due to the light left on in the bathroom and window open, so slept with moths flying around.
The shower the next morning had to be hand held due to the rod that holds it had a missing clip.
When I emailed and complained about the state of the room they said I can't get any refund back as needed to raise the issues on arrival. We checked in at 10.30 to a key in a lock box... no one was around.
Then i go into my credit card account and they charged me $182.40.... what the heck!!!
We went back to complain in person today and he quoted me a different price plus surcharge. I said you can't do that and showed them the price on Agoda.
Now he says he can't refund as he's not the boss. We said to talk to the boss and refund immediately as they can't take more than what they quoted.
We are going to the Commerce Commission if they don't reply or refund.
Terrible place to stay. Never again.

We stayed in Unit 2 being a two-bedroom self-contained unit. It was very old and tired with numerous things either wrong, not provided, or not working. We wrote to the motel advising them of up to 15 things wrong with the accommodation with no reply. At $260 per night, it was too expensive for what was provided. Using Booking.com to reserve, the picture was not where we ended up staying. Very misleading. I have written to the Hospitality Association to find out how a make a complaint, but seem fairly certain this accommodation provider is not associated with any motel or hotel hospitality group.

Don't bother
I'd made the mistake of not reading the reviews before booking. But I'll back up all the negative comments below.
Staff were barely aware of your presence, mostly just get a surly response when asking a question.
Tv wasn't connected first night. Reception closed by 6 despite the door saying 9-9. No number to call. No TV till I had found the secret code. Use hdmi2!!
Kitchen equipment poorly stocked.
Shower pressure rubbish
Grouting mouldy
Lights not working
Curtains hanging off the rail
Generally dirty round the edges
Air conditioner worked but made a hell of a noise
Bed only had 2 very thin pillows and no spares
Didn't see the point of telling them any of this stuff that I'm putting on here as frankly I don't think they'd care.
Plus side. The bed was comfy, the WiFi was fast and, when the man gave me the secret code to make the tv work, there was plenty of chanel's to chose from
But seriously, at this price, go somewhere else.
