“The Perfect Covid-19 Retreat”
Reviewed 23 November 2020 for a stay in November 2020

Nice secluded cabin with great amenities, except firewood for outdoor firepit. The partially covered deck makes a wonderful place to sit and unwind as you watch for deer, squirrels and woodpeckers. The large fenced-in yard was much appreciated by Abby, our dear little wire hair fox terrier. This was her first vacation with us and she dearly loved being in the woods. I might mention that the owners, Lora and Andy, were exceptionally nice. When a family medical matter came up at the last minute, they were able to reschedule our visit. Very nice! The only thing I would suggest is there needs to be better directions to the cabin. If it hadn't been for the cleaning lady, Jackie, we would probably have had to stay in a motel in Jasper the first night. She stayed on the phone with us until we found the cabin. However, this is an easy problem to fix. Once you see how to get there, the problem is resolved. We would like to go back in the spring to see the differences in scenery.

Yes, almost everything in Newton County is hard to find!! That's why we give you lots of phone numbers!

We are so glad we were able to reschedule and everything turned out well with the medical issue! And so glad you enjoyed your visit!

“Beautiful serene place to land after enjoying all the mountains have to offer.”
Reviewed 3 November 2020 for a stay in October 2020

The Hasty Getaway was a beautiful spot in the mountains. Well maintained and stocked with all you need to feel like a second home. WiFi is good considering how secluded the cabin is. Great outside living space with the fire pit and picnic bench. Great place to relax after a busy day of hiking and canoeing.

“Peaceful cabin”
Reviewed 19 October 2020 for a stay in October 2020

This place is very peaceful which was just what we were hoping for. We enjoyed watching the deer during our morning coffee time on the porch. S’mores & hot dogs while looking at the night sky was the perfect ending to a great day spent in nearby Jasper & Ponca. The host was very quick to respond & went above & beyond to make sure we were satisfied guests. We’re looking forward to going back!

“A Perfect Retreat”
Reviewed 10 October 2020 for a stay in October 2020

The cabin was clean, comfortable and well stocked for the perfect “getaway” for a few days. It met our first requirement of being pet friendly. We appreciated the cabin’s secluded location, but enjoyed the many modern amenities. Lora and Andy created a pleasant homey atmosphere; it is like staying at a close friend’s place. We appreciated the peacefulness of spending time on the porch drinking morning coffee, or relaxing around the fire pit in the evening. It was a special treat to watch the deer feeding during the late afternoon, or listening to the call of the owls at night while enjoying the vastness of a starry night sky.
