Y Bwthyn Bach is a compact cottage in the wonderful Dyffryn Fernant Gardens, a couple of miles outside Fishguard, within easy reach of the wonderful Pembrokeshire coast and Cwm Gwaun. This lovely cottage has everything you need for self-catering, with the added bonus of free logs and electricity and access to the beautiful gardens, day and night. There is no tv and the surroundings are so peaceful that you can feel any stress melt away. Christina and David were the perfect hosts, there if you need them but giving you space – but do try to speak to Christina about gardening, she is an inspiration. And then there’s the library…what more can you ask for?
Went in the winter by myself for a quiet retreat. The hosts were attentive but respected my space. The cottage was a little cool in the morning, but there were heaters and a woodstove with a supply of wood in the shed next door. Kitchen had all the equipment needed to make it comfortable for the week. Fishguard is a beautiful little town with stunning views and walks for all abilities. Look forward to coming again (in the summer).
The cottage was very sweet and private. A really clever use of space with everything you could need. The owners were lovely. The rest of Pembrokeshire is within easy reach and very beautiful.
The stayed here about 10 years ago. I gave the owner a little china tortoise as a gift. Christina the owner is a marvellous host. The cottage is amazing. The gardens are out of this world. There is a lake too. I was able to take my dog which is a bonus. This place is heaven on earth.
