We recently stayed for two nights at this B&B, paying nearly £300 and lured by promises of "a touch of luxury". Unfortunately, our experience was far from this and there were many niggles during our stay.
Firstly, the temperature in our room upon arrival was uncomfortably cold. When I asked reception about when the heating came on, I received vague responses. I later realised that this was because the central heating did not actually come on at all— even at the end of October! All that was available was a small , portable electric heater in our room. Returning to a cold room each evening and waiting for the heater to warm things up for a few minutes, only for it to cool down almost immediately when switched off, was not our idea of comfort or indeed "luxury". One night after coming back from dinner, we were caught in a heavy downpour and got soaked through. There was absolutely nowhere to dry our clothes. Waking up cold in the middle of the night just isn't acceptable.
Our bathroom was absolutely freezing too. No heating in there at all either. There was only a single glazed window and I absolutely dreaded showering because it was so cold!
Additionally, the room had a very strong air freshener scent upon arrival. Sadly, we soon discovered this was masking a lingering smell ( cat pee/ mould). This seemed to be emanating from the bathroom and seeping into the entire room.
Furthermore, our "sea view" was available only through one very small window—not at all what we expected when we upgraded to a sea view room.
Whilst the room was decently sized and the breakfast was lovely, unfortunately the lack of heating and smelly bathroom make us reluctant to return.
