We pre-booked a 2 night midweek stay at this hotel two weeks ago. The place is reached via a very steep hill, a few minutes walk from the town. Perhaps it's not the best choice if you are not good at walking.
We were allocated a very comfortable room (1), which afforded stunning views over the garden and harbour. Our bathroom had a fixed head shower and bath, our only issue being that the toilet roll holder was situated out of reach when sitting down !!
There is a large and comfortable bar area. The hotel is still under refurbishment, and as such is not quite completed with many old windows in need of replacement, although this did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay.
Breakfasts were delicious. We only dined there on our first night, mainly because the restaurant is only open at weekends (we were there midweek), so only a limited bar menu was available. Our meals (curry and risotto) were rather dry, and service was not very quick.
All of the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and very pleasant. We look forward to returning once full refurbishment is complete.More
