We stayed four nights in the West Room with great views of the loch and hillside. The location at the end of the point is spectacular and made one the envy of others staying in Ullapool. Angus was a great host. He was ready for our arrival after a long day of travel by train and car from Edinburgh with a warm welcome. Access to the house is simple. The continental breakfast was a perfect alternative to a massive Scottish breakfast and eagerly anticipated each morning as the aroma of croissants filled the house. Eating in the privacy of your room and while gazing over the loch and hills made for a special start to each day. He is attention to detail and support of local businesses and galleries to decorate the common spaces and rooms made a strong impression - especially since he is a skilled landscape photographer. He highlights the best of Ullapool in a positive and engaging manner - and Ullapool and the region has a lot to offer. He provided great itineraries for exploring the Assynt hills and beaches and provided great advice on maps, driving routes and weather forecasts. In town, he helped orient us to laundry and other services prior to our ferry to Lewis/Harris. Of the five accommodations we had on our Scotland trip, the Point and Ullapool were the most memorable. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. Thanks Agnus!

Room Tip: All rooms are well appointed and have good views. The South Room with dual views is the best and largest room. We stayed in West Room wiht a great view across loch and mountains. Beautiful as sun rise illuminates the mountainside and yo get to watch boats and ferry and birds and otter from above. North Room is nice as well with of loch and other mountains.

Really enjoyed our stay here! Angus was lovely and really welcoming! The rooms are excellent and the bathroom was great! Amazing water pressure so a great shower! Breakfast was a treat! Lovely fresh fruit and croissants served in your room which allows you to enjoy the amazing view and relax! All in all a 5* experiance!

Room Tip: South View room was amazing! Lying in bed and watching the boats go by!

The location of House on the Point must be the best in Ullapool. Lovely property and room, furnished with everything you could require. Angus was an excellent host, very friendly and informative. I would definitely recommend House on the Point to anyone and will be staying there again when I next visit Ullapool.

A wonderful spot from which to explore both the town as well as surrounding countryside. Our room was cosy and comfortable with superb views to the west. Taking breakfast in our room was very relaxing with beautifully served fresh fruit, cereal, toasted home made bread, warm croissants and hot coffee a great way to start the day.
Our host Angus proved to be a most knowledgeable guide, advising on what to do and where to go. We would strongly recommend following his written tour which provides great detail (right down OS reference numbers) ensuring you don't miss anything worth seeing.

We had a wonderful stay at the House on the Point. It really is a good B&B and was much more comfortable and enjoyable to stay in than the hotel we subsequently moved on to which was over twice the price of House on the Point. Angus is great and has everything so well organised and thought through. He is also very interesting to chat to. We did his suggested 'Grand Day Out' which was a full day's tour out from Ullapool, with suggestions of viewpoints that would make good photos, walks along the way and places to stop for refreshments and that was a most enjoyable day. I can thoroughly recommend this place.
