“Thank you for nice memories”

A very nice cottage with a warm personal touch and the charm of a historic building. We loved the games room and the stunning landscape. Committed owners who love what they offer, wonderful !!

“Absolutely beautiful cottage in a perfect location”
Reviewed 27 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We stayed at the cottage over the long weekend and had a fantastic time. The cottage is immaculate and it was lovely to turn up to have the little gift basket on arrival - a touch we have not seen in other cottages rented.

We loved the games room in the back garden, and were able to take advantage of the garden in the sunny weather.

The cottage is perfectly located for the town, only a 10 min walk away from some really good country pubs. We would most certainly come back here, we wish we had stayed longer than just the weekend!

“Perfect cottage for a relaxed weekend”

We stayed at Stonecutters Cottage this weekend with friends, their 7month old and our 2 year old. What a beautiful place to build a cottage and make the most of the surrounding views! On arrival we all settled quickly into our comfortable rooms and were delighted with the very thoughtful welcome hamper, complete with the tastiest cheese.
The garden had a tree in full blossom amongst bluebells and tulips and the games room went down a treat with the guys and our little boy who played his first game of table football. Good sized shower, separate bath and a massive dishwasher.
The footpath opposite the house led straight into the village where we found superb food shops including a mini fish market where we bought the biggest prawns this side of Thailand for dinner.
Basically we had a fantastic time and the cottage was a perfect retreat to return to at the end of a long day walking and chasing after little ones.

“Beautifully appointed & comfortable cottage”

This is a truly delightful cottage, most tastefully decorated and thoughtfully equipped with everything one could possibly need for a relaxed and comfortable stay. There is a games room in case the weather turns bad, as well as TV, DVDs and books to please everyone. I particularly loved the orange tones of the kitchen and breakfast area, and also the artwork on the walls. The single track lane up to the house is a little steep but we didn't meet another vehicle all week and the hillside situation of the cottage gives not only lovely views but also tranquillity.

We dined twice at The Britannia, Nailsworth's gastro pub - not cheap but great food. There are great cheeses and artisan breads to be bought in the town and there's a fish & chip shop which opens as early as 4pm. We'd also recommend funky and flavoursome home made lunches at The Blue Zucchini in Tetbury and 'Made By Bob' in Cirencester (best fish soup this side of Le Touquet). Minchinhampton is lovely and you'll find a cheery welcome at 'The Kitchen' tea rooms. The church there too is well worth a visit and there's a cheese shop intriguingly named 'The Woeful Dane'. Newark Park is surely the most unusual National trust location and you are allowed to sit of the sofas and make yourself at home (plan to eat elsewhere though, as quote: 'we have soup and there might be a panini'). The NT's Horton Park remains closed this season, but there are lots of good places to visit, even on rainy days.

All in all, this corner of the Cotswolds is charming, unhurried and not so packed with tourists as villages and towns further north. Tetbury is a must (the free Police Museum is most diverting, do check out the 'live session' in the courtroom), and Cirencester is also well worth a visit for a spot of retail therapy. Stroud, however, is a bit of a workaday town. Not much to commend it.

“Cosy cottage with splendid views in great location.”

The cottage is on a quiet single track road on a hill above the town of Nailsworth. The cottage a tastefully decorated and well equipped with everything you need for a prolonged stay. I particularly appreciated the welcome hamper ( complete with dog biscuit) and thick Egyptian cotton towels. The owners have put a lot of thought into extra touches such as torches to use on your walk back from town at night. There are lots of lovely walks from the doorstep and we found a great circular cycle ride from nearby Tetbury that was relatively flat! Local pubs are excellent and Nailsworth has plenty of interesting shops to browse round as well as the necessary supermarkets.
