We stayed on the ground floor apartment for a January family getaway. The place was lovely and clean, with everything you need for a weeks stay. It is a ten minute walk to padstows centre, although this is up and down a fairly steep hill so anyone with mobility issues may struggle a little, but we managed fine with a pram and my Dad having bad knees. The 4 bedrooms are a good size, 3 of them have beautiful views of the estuary and the other is a great size. Travel cot is big (would double as a good playpen) so if you are taking a very small baby they may need a moses basket, or something inside it (we took our sleepyhead which worked perfectly). The living room/ dining room is great and perfect for playing games and eating together.
The place is a little tricky to spot, the entrance is next to the gated community and you have to drive through the little carpark and round to the side, then down quite a steep slope to the parking.
We were so grateful for a lovely stay and will definitely return!
Everything was perfect. Clean rooms and house, lovely welcome gift on arrival. Not a bad word to say about the place. 8min walk from Padstow central and even closer to supermarket. Definitely booking again soon.
Thanks!
This is a lovely big, clean, bright & airy apartment with glorious views across the estuary. The kitchen/dining/living space is bigger than photos suggest and is well equipped with a welcome tray including flowers & wine, all the kitchen equipment you'll need, utility room etc. WiFi is easily connected via the router near the entrance door. Parking for both the ground floor & first floor apartments is a little tight. The apartment is generally well maintained and clean. The three bathrooms are starting to look a little tired but there has clearly been a decent effort to deal with the damp in one en-suite mentioned in another review. All the furniture and bedding is clean but for two couples we were only provided with 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels per couple. So if you need bigger or more towels, take some from home. The only other downside is noise from the upstairs apartment. In the rear en-suite bedroom you can hear conversations & snoring from the bedroom above and you can hear movement from above elsewhere in the apartment. Overall, a lovely base to explore, close to Tesco for essentials, a short walk into Padstow & conveniently placed for access to main roads.
The photos for this apartment really don't do it any justice, It is large , clean and very spacious.and has wonderful views from the living room all over the estuary. There was plenty of space for our party of six and we certainly didn't feel like we were falling over one another. As we had elderly relatives with us we found it great as there were no steps at all to the property . The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you need. Bedrooms , bedding and beds are lovely and comfy. The main bathroom is a little tired and perhaps could do with a re-vamp and there has obviously been a leak in one of the on-suite bathrooms that needs attending to. Also with it being a downstairs apartment you do get a lot of noise transfer from upstairs ( we had a quite a large party upstairs when we were there and had quite a lot of noise ) so perhaps it could benefit from some really good sound proofing to avoid problems of noise for both flats, It is about ten minutes walk into padstow and the camel trail and there is also a Tesco about five minutes away. Cornish Seaview Cottages were very helpful and friendly and i couldn't fault them as a company to deal with. They were prompt and efficient and sent loads of really useful information about the cottage and surrounding area,
The house is not expensive, is in a fantastic location (near town center, near coastal path and near Tesco) and has lovely large rooms. However, it is a bit tired - could do with a repaint and there is damp in the bathrooms. This can be overlooked but our main concern was about the internet. We couldn't get it to work all week, despite the management company taking a look. We understand this is a recurring issue and the landlord/management company tried their best to fix it but weren't able to it.
