Restored at nearby Stiffkey, the Lucy Lavers, an original RNLI boat, heroically serving in the Second World War Dunkirk evacuation in 1940 is now at Wells-Next-The-Sea in North Norfolk, giving wonderful trips around the harbour. Skippered by young seafarers it was great to see the old harbour front from the sea, past the horse sculpture to remind us of how horses towed lifeboats out to sea, seeing the many boats both large and small and then out to the sand bar to the fabulous beach..And what a superb lunch box of sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, chocolate covered strawberries and lovely mini chocolate donuts pretzels and blueberries. And a special lunch box for the young children. It’s perfect for children parents and grandparents. The hospitality was informative interesting and delightful. A first class hour and a half

A short trip aboard the beautiful lifeboat Lucy Lavers with 81 years of fascinating history including her part in the Dunkirk Evacuation in 1940. The Skipper Liam is skilled, friendly and well informed. I didn’t have the food offered on some of the trips but it looks delicious. The setting in the historic port of Wells is amazing too- Wells looks great from the water!
