We booked this as a last minute break as I am going thru treatment for cancer and needed some sunshine. The hotel was very nice -rooms very smart although ours was a little in the shade (on the side of the hotel). The staff were exceptional in the restaurant-I am following a non-dairy diet - the restaurant manager and the head chef Jose made sure that every day I was informed what I could eat of the dishes of the day and even offered to make other dishes for me. I was treated like royalty which really means a lot when you are going thru difficult times! Their kindness and hospitality really made our holiday one to remember.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back get more sun-which you need in the cooler months.

I and my partner went here for a week late March and overall we had a lovely experience. The weather to begin was on the cloudy and on the wet side but it soon picked up and no matter what the weather it didn't stop us from going out. The hotel was good, the room we had was nice and had a lovely view as well as feeling private to other balconies which we liked. Cleaning was good, as well as the restaurant staff and receptionist being friendly; being quite a quiet couple we did not really engage with the staff but they still provided a good service. Food was varied and well cooked and the spa was nice especially to use on colder days. The beach is a good 15 minutes walk down hill but great for walking off all the food you've eaten. Also the bus station is quite close with some great options for travelling, we visited Granada which is a two hour bus drive but much cheaper than taxi and Frigliana, 15 minutes away at 1 euro. The hotel is a little away from the center but has a nice atmosphere and stunning views to accompany it. does not have much activities for younger guests we would have liked a pool table or something but it did not spoil our holiday. Overall a good little hotel well priced.

Room Tip: we were on the fourth floor, smaller balconies but quiet and the view is still visible and lovely.

Second visit to the Hotel Nerja Club, which is situated outside of the town but within walking distance, even for us larger people. However, there is also a bus service and taxis cost 6-7 euros , so not bad at all.
The food is, in my opinion, very good, being wholesome food, well cooked and certainly enough to make me add a stone in weight. The chef is always cheery and when carving the meat, he makes sure you do not go short. There is normally a choice of four meats(sometimes in a stew or casserole, plenty of vegetable choice and a terrific salad bar (you could just fill up on the salads to be honest). The sweets put out are often similar and simple but tasty and, if you do not load your plate with all varieties each night, you could get variety over a couple of weeks. Plenty of fresh fruit if you want to be healthy.
Drinks are ok....get your more expensive ones at happy hour. The only problem some nights, comes from the "Ex-pats", who clog up the bar, making it difficult and annoying when they will not move until pushed, when you are trying to get drinks. The hotel should really consider making a clear area at the bar to stop this problem. They would still be as loud and obnoxious but at least they would not be in the way too.....it does tend to make for tense situations, as they are normally well lubricated......they seem to follow certain entertainers.
The entertainment is not bad for the general price.....bit samey if you have seen before.

Rooms are adequate for the price, the staff are friendly enough and work hard moving, cleaning and waiting quickly and efficiently. The furniture in the conservatory needs changing.....cane unravelling and worried about the chairs falling apart for someone as heavy as me.

Generally well worth the price paid.

Everything. Hotel is not up to any standard for holiday visitors. Our room was in the basement beside the main road. The room was so dark, due to the fact that the road view took up half the window, that you had to put on the lights to see about. The smell of disinfectant and jeyes fluid was overwhelming. We asked why we did not get a pool view and were told that there was none available. We later asked to move, to be told no rooms were available. Only when we demanded to move did a room suddenly become available. This room was not much better and looked out virtually onto a derelict site. The wall were so paper thin that you could hear every activity throughout the night coming from the rooms next door. The pool was also filthy with debris scattered throughout the bottom of the pool. We walked out after the first day and booked another hotel as we were wasting our time complaining to the reception. When we handed back the keys they could not care less about us leaving.

Room Tip: Makes no difference. We booked four months in advance and were given a room in the basement.

Dear Sir,

Firstable, thank you very much for choosing us for your short break in Nerja. We are really sorry that we could not meet your expectations to stay for two nights with us.

I can understand that you were a bit cross with the fact your bags were missing on the flight and when we allocate you in a room on the first floor, that even didn’t help much.

Regarding you petition on a pool view room, as my college said, were not available at that day. Fortunately, the hotel was almost full on that date and all rooms on top floor were taken, otherwise, we wouldn’t mind to give you one of those, but as you probably know , we never promise or ask for extra money to be allocate in a certain room. So any room in the hotel got the same facilities and same price, although we always try to match request when is possible, we never promise it. All my regulars customers could tell you so, and we got a few of them coming every year since we are open.

I regret about all this and I would like you to have given us more time, not only a few hours, to know us properly.

I would like to offer you the opportunity to give us another chance to show how nice we can be, offering the day you lost, free; you just need to contact me.

Finally, when you left the hotel never mention you were living the room, only left us your room key, you didn’t give us a chance for that.

Thank you very much, looking forward hearing from you.

With best wishes – Antonio Roman – Manager Hotel Nerja Club

Really friendly hotel. Excellent service. Really good value and healthy buffet style meals. 'Happy Hour' provided a chance to socialize at very good value! I made good use of the Jacuzzi and spa facilities which soothed aching muscles and joints after days spent walking in the nearby hills. Entertainment every night mostly of good quality. Outdoor pool was a bit cool when we visited. Only drawback was the rock hard uncomfortable bed. However, I will definitely return as it was so close to good walks and brilliant value for money. Will stay longer next time! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves walking and an active holiday.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are larger and more quiet.
