A place for contemplation . We arrived about half an hour before the convent closed in the evening . We entered and were looking into the church when a nun approached us to buy entrance tickets and told us to visit the church and cloisters first as services would begin soon . We then visited the tower for views over the city . The same friendly ( and English speaking ) nun then escorted us to the gates . We asked if we could take her picture locking the gates which she readily agreed to , allowing us to hold the keys -- and immediately gave us her email address to send the picture to ! One of the quirky experiences that make a vacation memorable .
