“Long, clean, sandy beach with excellent local food”
Review of Getares

Getares

A little way out the port city this authentic "village" has a very pleasant (if not exactly picturesque) site for an afternoon at the beach. The experience will be greatly enhanced if you try the local bars where the (sea) food is fresh and simply, but lovingly prepared.

Getares is smaller than Rinconcillo, so can be rammed on a weekend day in July or August. The sand is also not as fine and not as nice to walk along compared to Rinconcillo, but the water is clean, there are plenty of beachside eateries and the beach feels concealed from the wider Mediterranean.

Beech resort with bars and food. . The car park is free however you will be asked to pay. Small see side resort which is a nice visit if. Have nothing else planned. If u are in algerias for a few days and are British I strongly advise visiting gibralter.

Went there for the day whilst staying in Algeciras, Reina Cristina Hotel. Cost 5 Euros in taxi. Lovely beach and nice cafe / bars on beach front.

This is a nice beach but can be very windy and large waves. There are a lot of Spanish locals so it feels more authentic than beaches on the Costa Del Sol. There are seasonal restaurants for seafood and tapas
