We had a family reunion ( 5 people) at this beautiful and spacious villa! Great location and enjoyed the pool on hot days. Property manager lives close by, and answered promptly when we had questions about our stay. Would come again!
Before I review the villa I must say that Sharon and her housekeeper Eliza deserve a huge 'thankyou' for all the help and support we got for both the booking and while we were staying at the villa. Nothing was too difficult, emails were responded to swiftly and Eliza stayed up to welcome us on our arrival even though it was well past 11pm! The villa itself is spacious, clean and with comfy beds and pillows and fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The pool was filtered and cleaned while we stayed there. Sitio itself is small and quaint, but its easy to get to the larger main town of Nazare by the funicular railway (hint, buy a 7 day pass, its way cheaper). The North beach is about 20 mins walk away and absolutely beautifully clean and very few people even in August. We had everything available for an idyllic holiday although be warned, it can get quite chilly with the sea mist coming in at times, so pack some cardies! The only 'fly in the ointment' was a couple of incredibly noisy cockerels in the house directly opposite unfortunately.
We have just spent a wonderful week at this villa at the end of July and start of August. Firstly, the accommodation was exactly as we expected and completely suitable for our needs. The open plan ground floor provides a very sociable area with good kitchen facilities and there is a utility room with a washing machine. All four bedrooms were spacious and the first floor terrace off the master bedroom, along with a roof terrace in the second floor offered some privacy should you wish for it. Outside, the private swimming pool is lovely. The position of the villa was perfect for our needs. We travelled as an adult family group (40's and 20's) and this villa caters for everyone. It is a 5 minute (uphill) walk to the main square in Sitio, which offers many shops and restaurants as well as an amazing view down to Nazare. Just off the square there is the funicular (€2.90 for a return of around €9.00 for a 7 day pass) down to Nazare itself. These run every 15 minutes. In the other direction you are about 10 minutes walk from Praia do Norte, a fantastic unspoiled surfing beach with great scenery. We always rent a car and used it to transfer from and to the airport and found it useful to nip to the supermarket but didn't use it much more as there was plenty to occupy us with walking distance (Personally I wouldn't recommend driving into Nazare town as we found it slow and tricky to park in a car and the funicular is much easier). The owner Sharon kept in touch from the time of booking to the end of our stay to make sure we were happy with everything and the local manager Elisa was very helpful. We had a lovely holiday at this villa and would not hesitate to rent it again.
The house was as described. Very clean and very spacious. The three terraces around the house make it so you can have sun at any given moment of the day.
We didn't have the hottest weather (+- 28°C), so with the high winds it was a bit too cold for us to go in the pool. But overall, it didn't bother us very much.
