On arrival we were greatly impressed with the architectural structure of this building but Ray (the owner) told is us all about its interesting past history. (very intriguing, the Devil himself had a hand in it!) The whole place was spotlessly clean and we had a double room which also had a bunk beds. Plenty of clean towels were provide and although TripAdvisor had wrongly advertised it there was ample breakfast cereal, milk, tea and bread provided. Fridge and small cooking stove if anyone wanted to do their own cooking. Roscommon town is about 7 klm, away so no problem if one needs shopping as there is Aldi, Lidl and M&S plus other stores.
Situated in a very peaceful picturesque area of Roscommon. Where cows are lying down chewing their cud and lambs are playing in the fields, something which many city children have never seen. There are many long country walks which would be ideal for bicycle riding, so bring your own bikes.
The river Suck is only 5 minutes walking distance away for fishing, and Domamon Castle with its past history and present day enterprises are worth paying a visit to. Everyone will be made very welcome there.
