Our visit started with a very warm welcome from Caroline on reception. We won the weekend break in conjunction with the Allingham Arts Festival. The Sandhouse Hotel was top class from start to finish. Our spacious room was overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. WOW...views amazing from bedroom & dining room. Dinner was excellent with a lot of choices.Staff in all areas were very helpful, friendly & efficient. There was a beautiful fire in reception area throughout our stay which was very welcome in November. We will definitely be back.

Stayed one night here to satisfy my curiosity . If you look really closely , some might say parts are a little worn and tired , but we were really impressed overall by the cleanliness and location of the hotel . We were upgraded for free to a seaview room which was both spacious and very clean . There is a lot of common area for chatting and having a drink . We had an evening meal , which was a real credit to the chef , both on presentation and taste . All staff were pleasant , polite and greeted us with a smile . At breakfast we went down expecting the usual buffet breakfast , but was shown a brilliant menu, from which we could select as much as we desired . It was absolutely delightful having everything cooked individually for us . Loved our stay , and will definitely be back . Only down side is , the lack of things to do outside of the hotel. We just wanted a relaxing time , and the hotel and long sandy beach was all we needed . Thanks Sandhouse for a lovely time .

Another visit to the Sandhouse, and another great experience. This two-night visit was for my birthday, and, as always, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. We were a party of 22 for dinner and the table was positioned to make the most of the stunning view from the dining room, and the food was excellent. Breakfast the next morning was as usual ... great, as was our meal on the second evening. Our room was wonderfully spacious (I had lots of birthday paraphernalia!) with a fab sea view. I wished I could have stayed longer, but I'll be back hopefully before the year is out. Thanks to all there for another lovely stay. Much appreciated.

Room tip: Rooms with sea views are stunning.

Over many years I’ve been lucky enough to stay in great hotels all the over the world with work etc. & this place compares well with any - it’s wonderfully unique, truly different from the generic and often bland chain hotels. From the welcoming fire, the ever accommodating staff, the amazing setting on the doorsteps of the Atlantic, the very nice food. It’s a great place to unwind, and breath. Thanks. Bill

My fiancé and I stayed at the Sandhouse hotel on our trip around Ireland this month. The room was decent if not a little worn and dated. The best part of the room was the view of the ocean. Stunning! The hotel itself doesn’t have a lot of amenities, but the it is located right on the beach and is stunning from the outside. They have a beach bar and a fine dining restaurant. Emma at the bar was great! She made me a few cosmos when most of what they serve is beer and wine. Overall the place was just ok. If your looking for something fancy this is probably not it, but it’s a solid place to stay.
