This is an amazing experience and really feels like a step back in time. The staff are so friendly, informative and proud - it's well worth doing the guided tour of the house so you can get a real insight into Robert Louis Stevenson's life and time in Samoa.
This was a great visit while we were in Samoa recently. The guide Susana was articulate, interesting and also a good singer. She sang an English version and a Samoan version of Robert Louis Stevenson's poem "Requiem". She made the tour amusing and captivating. The homestead was well worth visiting and easy to imagine the family living there.
This is a must-visit, especially for those who grew up on Stevenson's books. It is an enchanting place.
Just a short drive out side of Apia on the Cross Island Road, this beautiful building and its magnificent gardens, is well worth a visit.
Our guide topped it all off by singing at the end of our tour that brought a tear to the eye Well worth the stop over if you are venturing to the other side of the island. The life of RLS.was brought to life by the museum artifacts.
Next time if time permits would love to climb the mountain to visit his resting place
Beautiful grounds and restored building. Very informative guide who obviously loves her work. Too wet to go to waterfall.
Afternoon visit with our toddler - beautiful, beautiful house and gardens. So expansive and like a different world! A really nice place to stop and really fascinating. The staff there were absolutely delightful - we really enjoyed our time there.
