We have been to Hoyran now on 4 visits & we love it! Canan & Suleyman are fantastic hosts.
You arrive driving down a long road, with very few houses, at the end is 'Hoyran' or rather 'Heaven'.
Hoyran is a collection of Turkish country cottages, designed by C& S, beautifully furnished with carefully selected antique furniture sourced in Istanbul.
Our favourite is the Art Studio, kitchen, sitting room, bathroom & shower room. An old tree caresses the studio. An upper terrace lends itself to morning coffee & a chilled glass of local wine before dinner.
Demré the nearest town is a 15 mins drive & restaurants are great for lunch, however Canans traditional evening meals are not to be missed. Lots to see. Local ruins Hoyran. Arycanda, Sura, Kyaena, Myra &Andriake.
Then you have the sunken city of Kekova. Oh My! It is a lovely place.
Soon to return. Xx

Room Tip: Wifi only at main house but is being extended to the country houses..

Hoyran Wedre is a collection of beautifully furnished country cottages/houses built in local limestone sympathetic with the local culture and surroundings. A pool with lovely views of the surrounding limestone scenery and of the Turquoise coast some 1000ft below is central to the property with the cottages/houses built close by, separated by stone paths, rock scenery and swathes of flowers in bloom.
Our favorite by far is the very private 'Art Studio', a lovely cottage with all amenities and a superb roof terrace ideal for early morning coffee or a relaxing afternoon in the shade sipping local wine.
This is our 4th visit to Hoyran Wedre and we plan to return next year again (and again) because we love the peace and solitude and of course the delicious home cooking. This is a place to lose yourself and forget all your cares and woes. A place to relax and be content.
Multilingual Canan and Suleyman (not forgetting Fatmagu) are wonderful hosts who always smile and will keep you well attended. Tea/coffee and cake by the pool at 17:00 hrs is a very welcome treat.
They have many returning guests year after year who enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the ancient Lycean ruins nearby.
In closing I have to point out to potential visitors that there is NO trouble at all here as a result of the Syrian conflict. The Turquoise coast and South Western area of Turkey is VERY safe and well patrolled by the Turkish police. In 3 weeks touring the area by car all we saw was very friendly local people and not a single spot of any bother anywhere. Go now while it is quiet. The roads are empty and the the hotels are not busy at all so a good deal is to be had by all.

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderful, being furnished with old Turkish furniture. Our favorite is the Art Studio, because we love the isolation.

It's difficult to find anything to add to the the many excellent reviews that Hoyran Wedre has already deservedly gained. All I can say is that if you have any plans for visiting Turkey's Southern coast this year then making Hoyran your base would be the best booking you could make. Located mid-way between Dalaman and Antalya it's only three hours' driving from either airport and is central to the most beautiful scenery, sea-coasts and classical sites the area has to offer. From this exceptional hotel you can walk sections of the Lykian Way, drive no more than an hour to Olympos, Patara and the most evocative ruins or swim, kayak and snorkel in the beautiful bays of Kekova. If that's too much Hoyran offers a flower-filled garden with individual houses and rooms surrounding the swimming pool that's itself backed by a terraced restaurant serving food cooked from local ingredients by Cannan in her kitchen. The hotel is open from now right up unti the end of October when visitor numbers drop but the weather continues to be warm. If you enjoy independent travel, making discoveries, eating like a local and finding places to stay that are worlds away from tourist-brochure hotels Hoyran is completely the place for you. PS Hoyran is the name of the ancient Lykian town metres away from the Hotel's front door and Wedre is ancient Lykian for 'a place like home'.

We wanted somewhere that was quiet, reasonably well appointed, decent food and not too difficult to access some walking. And that is what we got. Canan and Suleyman were delightful hosts. Our room was fine and the grounds tranquil with a good pool. But the food made it. Just that bit different - interesting and imaginative but still Turkish. Much looking forward to returning.

We spent two great days at Hoyran Wedre and can't say enough about our experience. Canan and Suleyman were wonderful hosts. Our room, the grounds and pool were beautiful and the breakfasts and dinners we had were delicious. We especially appreciated how friendly and kind Canan and Suleyman were to us. Highly recommended!
