We wanted to visit Ile de Pain in May 2018 but it burned down...
Decided to try again in October on a quick getaway.
I am speechless . Jay Jay our waiter was superb , the food ( Dragon Burger ) and Green Bowl salad was sooo delicious. The chef knows how to combine different ingredients to create something special.
There is nothing comparable in Knysna .

Thank Pieter R

I just bought 2 sandwiches, 2 desserts, water and a coffee inside, and i couldn’t sit down on their terrace where there were 15-20 free tables because i had bought it inside and this is not considered “lunch”??? So i ate my LUNCH on the bench on the side of the street instead. Not very customer minded! Would understand if there weren’t enough tables but this was ridiculous. Food is great but wouldn’t recommend to go there.

We visited this very special place in Knysna.......not the first time, but maybe the last!!
They are really pricey......
We were very disappointed when we ordered the bread board, not to get any butter with it!!!!! That was extra????
We had a bit of a situation where the price advertised for an item was not was they charged us on the bill....and the manager got a bit annoyed with us.
Over all, they are very successful and popular, but over the top with their prices according to my view.

This is what happens when a restaurant stays true to their core and produces authentic delicious and honest food for over a decade - queues to get in, great staff, and really moreish food.
We have been patronizing this restaurant since its early beginnings and have never been disappointed at each visit.
Will be back again before the end of our visit in Knysna.

The food choices are based on being healthy & fresh. This promise was delivered in our meals. Light, tasty & fresh. The only downside was that the kids' ice-tea wasn't palatable to them (no sugar). Great venue for a lunch.
