The Mount Nelson {Nellie) is an iconic fixture of Capetown. Beautiful grounds, secluded locale, but still close to attractions. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. High tea was very classy. This hotel is luxury at its finest. If it fits your budget, this is a must for stays in Capetown.

I stayed 2 nights with my wife and our 11-years-old daughter in April 2018. Absolutely splendid views from our balcony. Pristine gardens, nice breakfast. All staff members very courteous, with a special note of thanks to Sim, who served us at the outside patio. Excellent gastronomic experiences at the Planet Restaurant. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed.

Wonderful stay at Mount Nelson. We had a wonderful view of The Table from our room. Room was beautiful and service was wonderful. The staff was wonderful, making our stay very special. Location was perfect and within walking distance of the Company Gardens, many great restaurants and clubs. Will be back next time we are in Cape Town.

The Mount Nelson is in a great location to enjoy all that Cape Town has to offer.
The Breakfast included in many room rates is absolutely outstanding, the high tea is the best we have had in any city with a British heritage (esp. London & Hong Kong) and the Concierge is really on top of where to find the best restaurants and entertainment.

Room Tip: Ask for room third floor or higher with a view of the pool.

Mount Nelson is a grand old colonial style hotel in central Cape Town located conveniently for table mountain and close enough to the V&A waterfront.

The rooms are lovely and furnished to high standards. The gardens are lovely and worth walking around. The breakfast by the poolside is excellent and the concierge helpful.

The staff is courteous and helpful however some lacked training. As an example one of the kitchen staff struggled with cooking an omelette - that is basic. We also saw that Afternoon tea was very popular at the hotel.

We visited the Company’s gardens located close to the hotel and they were lovely.
