Three night stay at Camps Bay Retreat. Didn't look too much at Trip reviews as it was a last minute booking. Hotel and location amazing. Our room had a suite and over looked the mountain and sea! The bed & pillows were wonderful and comfortable.
The service and attention to detail does let this hotel down.
Simple things .....tissue not replenished, tea lights used and not replaced, one match in a box of matches, ice bucket full on arrival, still full ( of water) the next day after the room was serviced, coffee and milk not replenished.
Cooked breakfast served cold and long wait for toast, which was also cold. Butter in lurpack butter packs, perhaps for the standard of the hotel, a nice butter dish?? It did seem to lack love and care from the staff......however one guy at reception did recommend a wonderful steak restaurant at the V&A which was to die for and we thanked him for that. The Duty Manager also asked for any feed back which we were happy to provide.
Not sure if we would return, as there is such competition the Retreat would need to improve greatly.More
