Our visit to Mohlabetsi was wonderful. We were there for a family reunion and we had an amazing stay. The game viewing was exceptional and the staff were outstanding. Our hosts, Nina and Jacques, were the epitome of warmth and professionalism and went out of their way to accommodate us.
Simply as a note for consideration: the dinners around the boma are a lovely African experience and work well for couples. However, if a group of friends or family go away together, it is very difficult fo chat together at dinner as an inclusive group. Guests sit side by side and effectively, one can only really connect to the person beside you or one down from you. I'm sure that many tourists travel as families and dinner time is the perfect time, at the end of an exciting day in the bush, to sit as a family and connect and have exchanges about the day's sightings and experiences. The seating at the boma makes it difficult to do so. It would perhaps be preferable to arrange dinner around the boma for one or two night's during a guest's stay, as some other lodges do, but to allow guests/friends/families to sit around a table, and to reflect and swap happy notes with each other, on other nights.
Apart from this one issue, our general experience of Mohlabetsi was absolutely tremendous and we highly recommend it.
