Best value of money EVER! Very friendly staff and management! Real family feeling ! Amazing view at the mountains! Quality of food is also super. Tent experience is also astonishing in the middle of the bush.

As always, the food, drinks and service were excellent.
The wooden deck with the view of the Drakensberg Mountains is fantastic and the game drives always deliver.
And ... after a wonderful day at Khaya Ndlovu, a blissful bed awaits you in your luxurious room.

Khaya does not disappoint on any level. Visited with my niece and went on the most amazing game drive. Her eyes were on stalks as we were treated to one amazing sighting after another. The skills and knowledge of our guide and tracker were second to none. She returns to the UK, a very happy girl, with her new found facts of the Big, the Small and the Ugly 5!!!! Sundowners were particularly special as we saw the sun dip down behind the mountains as we enjoyed our respective cokes and G&T's whilst located next to a small watering hole. The resident hippo was kind enough to wait until we finished before exiting the water to graze. My niece will enjoy looking at the many hundreds of photos that were taken of a truly magical few hours in the bush.
Our day had earlier started with the best breakfast. Huge choice from the buffet of cereals, fruits, cheese and pastries followed by a freshly cooked option of smoked trout with poached eggs on a rosti. It more than set us up for our day as we prepared for the game drive with relaxation for a few hours around the pool and stunning sky deck. Strawberry daiquiris were taken whilst we watched game come and go at the watering hole that the lodge overlooks. This really is a special view and not to be missed.
My niece was treated like a Princess by all she met ay Khaya. Thank you for giving her memories that she will never forget.
Room tip: Don't miss sun down on the sky deck. Simply stunning views from a special vantage point.

This lodge is really nice and the view from the restaurant and the swimming pool is amaising.
All the team is focused on customer satisfaction and our journey was perfect.
They have organize a bush walk, a day in Kruger park and a game drive in the reserve. All went very well and their guides are knowledgable.
Last but not least, the price is really competitive.

A delightful Lodge…like being in a beautiful home.
Amazing terrace lookout over a watering hole that was visited by a wide range of remarkable animals.
All the staff and the managers here are warm and friendly. They are knowledgeable and attentive. Bush babies in the rafters!
Game drive surreal and intimate. Guide genuinely respectful of the environment and deeply knowledgeable about the animals that inhabited it. A very moving experience.
Really excellent 👍 5 fat stars!
Room tip: This is a truly beautiful place.

Very disappointing dinner. Our overall experience. Not much of a selection for a three course dinner, 2 starters, 2 mains and 1 pudding. The meal was over priced and offered nothing exceptional. The starter was not too bad but by no means wow, a tasteless and oily vetkoek was the "side:, A very bland oxtail with polenta that tasted like pap was one of the main dishes on offer, the second being salmon - which caused a person in our party to get ill. she noticed it smelt a bit fishy and said in hindsight she should not have eaten it. Sago pudding was the only option for dessert, not exactly what one would expect for fine dining. The deck is lovely and the view is one of the best in Hoedspruit, but the dinner was by no means anywhere close to our expectations. Although staff were friendly, the guy whom I'm assuming was the manager, was around but didn't bother coming over to our table to enquire how the evening was going. There was no atmosphere and it felt as if most people were whispering to each other. Eventually a bit of background music was switched on.... We had to ask for everything, top up of drinks, more ice, another bottle of wine etc, not once was this offered. Had he paid attention, we would have aired our thoughts with him, but as he seemed disinterested, we paid the bill and left. Overall a very disappointing experience.
Room tip: Avoid over rated over priced

We appreciate your effort in sharing your thoughts on your recent dining experience at
Khaya Ndlovu. It did come as a surprise, however, to receive your review concerning the
food quality, given that the other guests who dined with us on Saturday evening expressed
nothing but satisfaction – even those who ordered the salmon dish. Nevertheless, we
genuinely hope the guest in question has since recovered.
Rest assured, we maintain constant communication with our suppliers to ensure that each
delivery meets the highest standards of quality and flavor.
Our menus are thoughtfully planned daily based on the availability of ingredients. This
dynamic approach to dining might have contributed to the perception of limited choices on
your visit. Given that one of your group members visited us on a frequent basis and assisted us in promoting our lodge and restaurant for a period in 2022, we are genuinely surprised that our set-menu concept wasn't communicated to your group before making your reservation.
Please know that we take every piece of feedback seriously, and we're committed to
addressing the service concerns you highlighted with the relevant staff members.
