Absolutely Phenomenal!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 6 Sept 2024
This place is so far beyond fantastic it is ridiculous! The staff is fantastic and so accommodating to our every need even before we arrived. Special shout out to Divine, Faith, and Nommy! A special, special shout out to our driver Solly and our tracker Stephen. I'm sure all of the drivers and trackers are fantastic but these two guys were fantastic. Very informative safaris and always a funny story to go along with our drives. We would definitely recommend Vuyani and in fact we are planning to return next year. Superb!!

I acutally don't understand why Vuyani doesn't have way more reviews, we just came back from our first safari experience and we're so happy and already ready to go back!
The hotel is great, great rooms with privat small pool + bigger pool in the main hotel area, all inclusive with delicious food and South African wines, coffee and cookies before breafkfast during your morning safari and sundowner during your evening safaris. You don't have to worry about anything, the stuff know you by name and they have everything planned out for you and check with you every night for the next morning.
The area is not fenced, which means at night and in the morning you need to be escorted to your bungalow, but it also means there are animals drinking from your pool or running around the area while you're eating breakfast, which was incredible!
The staff is incredibly nice and helpful and our safari guides Stephen and Solly were the best, always going the extra mile to track the animals and give us all kind of information and make us laugh!
We'll be back for sure!!

Vuyani was the best 1st safari experience we could’ve asked for! The deluxe rooms were beautiful, including an indoor shower and bath as well as an all inclusive minibar! All the staff were fabulous - from Witness who walked us around the lodge resort during the evenings, to Kate and the rest of the management team who were around all day & always had hot lemon towels to wipe our hands & faces on after game drives, Chris & Lucky our fabulous waiters who were so attentive. Not to forget our driver Solly & our tracker Stephen! The whole team made our experience truly unforgettable! The food was delicious and they catered to our vegetarian request with no problems! But truly the stars of the show were the animals in the reserve! We were lucky enough to see 4 of the ‘big 5’, but just kept missing the leopard by minutes! Our tracker & driver truly worked so hard and gave us some fabulous exclusive experiences! Solly & Stephen had such a wealth of knowledge whilst on our 3 hour game drives. They stopped at every branch, tree, track or dung and taught us everything we wanted to know! We wouldn’t have expected to have driven off the tracks so often just so we could see all the amazing animals. They were able to give us answers to all our questions and even gave us an astrology lesson one evening! Our experience would’ve been fabulous without them, but the two of them really were the cherry on top of the cake!

Room tip: - Pack lots of layers for the morning game drives (hats & multiple layers are necessary) - Visit the elephant sanctuary

All round excellence! The team at Vuyani, accommodation, food, facilities, service and overall experience surpassed all expectations! 100% recommend to anyone wanting to do a safari. The Blue Canyon and Kruger activities were also excellent.

Our family of 8 stayed in the VIP Marula Villar for 9 days from 1st July 2024
The Villar is set alone from anywhere else and has its own pool, butler, cook and staff who went above and beyond making our stay one of the best experiences of our lives.

Having previously been on many Safaris throughout Africa, the wildlife viewing has to be amongst some of the best animal encounters I have ever experienced.

Our guide (David) and our tracker (Steve), made sure we saw the Big 5 (and even the Ugly 5) many times over.
They were extremely professional and informative and taught us so much about the animals, eco system, flora, and even the history and folklore of the local area, and South Africa in general.
They were able to identify every bird, insect, animal, animal track etc. plus they found us the most amazing places to stop for our morning tea and coffee and evening ‘sundowners’

The staff at the Villar were exceptional.
We had our own butler (Russell), cook (Ephraim), Nkateko (Kbless), Skenera and Redolf.
The food was excellent and extremely varied, in fact it was 5-star dining at every meal.
They also put on an amazing meal with balloons, cakes and candles etc for my son and granddaughter’s birthdays.

The staff and management genuinely care about the environment as well as the guests.

Thank you everyone for making our family holiday an unforgettable experience.

There are many positive things about the Vuyani, with probably the highlight being the staff. They are extremely welcoming and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The lodge itself is nice and comfortable. Something people don’t mention in the reviews is that everyone sits together for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed this aspect, but if you aren’t that way inclined, it’s probably good to know!
I’d say that although the lodge is of a high standard, it is probably starting to age a little. One of the families we spoke to had constant WiFi issues and also issues with their water supply. We didn’t have any of these problems!
The food served is of a good standard and plentiful, similarly they are very generous with drinks etc.
Our small gripe really was around the condition of the safari jeeps. They are certainly well worn and have intermittent issues. None of the dials in the drivers side work and we did run out of fuel probably 1km from the lodge. Rather than send out some cars from the lodge (5 mins of a job) they sent another jeep from the river lodge (the other side of the park) and we sat around for 30 minutes waiting.
No big issue.
It seems there was perhaps some sort of issue between lodge owners as we were unable to visit certain areas that were previously accessible in the park. It was a shame as there were sightings posted on the radio of animals we didn’t see (such as the leopards) and we were unable to go there. Not the fault of the guides - they were excellent!
In summary it was a really enjoyable stay and I’d recommend it. A little bit of extra investment would make it extra special.
