Beautiful place, delicious food!
The host is very welcoming and took really good care of us. Our breakfast and dinner were really delicious, a great way to fuel up for our game drives.
We also saw impalas roaming around near our lodge and heard the bark of the hyenas at night.

Viva Safaris were great, well organised and caring. It was an intense 5 night / 6 day safari where Viva were focussed on maximising every opportunity to share all the beautiful animals in their homes. We loved the scenery, the local people and those who guided us in the safaris. We’d certainly recommend paying the small uplift to stay at the tented lodges. The hospitality from Margaret and Jane was personal and thoughtful, they cared about us and even undertook to bake a gluten free cake for my husband, we were certainly well fed with tasty home cooking.

LOVED staying here. My luxury tent was amid the forest where I could enjoy the sounds of birds and relax in my personal pool. The room is extremely spacious and has a homey rustic feel. The staff is amazing and so kind and the food they cook is amazing.

I had a wonderful stay at Katekani lodge! I stayed for 4 nights as part of a 6 day Viva Safaris experience and I am super-happy with my choice of accommodation. The "tents" are huge and I really appreciated the air con as it was really hot. Also, the private pool was great for cooling after long safari drives. However, the best of the best are the staff, especially Margaret with her hospitality, care and cooking. Food was excellent!!!
I was also lucky with animal sightings and saw the big five by day two. I actually ended up seeing the leopard three times!!! This was my fourth longer safari trip (having been to Kenia, Tanzania and to other parts of South Africa before), and these were my first ever leopard sightings. The drivers / rangers on the drives and walks were knowledgable and great fun. Big thumbs up to Viva Safaris!

"Wow!" I believe that we really lucked out with our choice of lodge. Our stay at Katekani was incredible. The organisation behind the scenes was impeccable providing us with a relaxing and yet exciting stay.
The safari drivers, namely Viktor, Rocky and King George were friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the area, animals and plants.
They engaged with us, telling stories of their own (sometimes terrifying) experiences in the Bush.
Our chef Margaret was heaven sent as without her we'd have starved. She catered for our group, three vegans and a carnivore with kindness and care.
We met some wonderful people and made life long friends. Just wonderful.
