After our long journey to the Southern Hemisphere we arrived albeit slightly weary in Plettenberg Bay, however the sight that greeted us soon revitalised our bleary eyes. On arrival at Whale Rock Garden House we received a wonderfully warm reception from Judy who showed as round what was to be our home for the next 10 days, every room exceeded any pre-conception being beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. When we finally looked onto the sun terrace we knew that all the boxes had been ticked, comy chairs and loungers as well as a dining area with BBQ (Braai).
The stunning beach is a gentle 10 minute walk and stretches as far as the eye can see in both directions, from the beach you will get a good view of the The Robberg Peninsula a nature reserve and national monument that lies about 8km south of Plettenberg Bay.
Plettenberg Town has a really cosmopolitan feel and has everything you need a couple of Banks, a great market where you buy wonderful local crafts as well as cafe's bars and restaurants. A must is The Look Out Deck, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Other places to note are Lemon Grass, Ghillies, Scotties (very near by to Whale Rock Garden House), Bramon, and Emily Moon however my favourite place on the planet is Enrico's about 15 mins drive from Plett at Keurboomstrand.
Our travels took us to Knysa, its well worth the drive and has plenty to offer - head to the Waterfront for lots of shops, bars and restaurants then on the way back another must is the Elephant Park where you can feed and get up close and personal with some of the residents. If you fancy a boat trip look up Patrick (Judy may be able to help), alternatively I think he does advertise locally. We met seals, had a quick glimpse of a shy nursing Humback whale and a massive pod of Common Dolphins.
One final venue you may or may not wish to visit would be Angie's G Spot! Whilst the drive offers stunning views nervous passengers may need sedation, but its worth it when you get there just don't order the gammon whilst the pot bellied pig is in earshot!
Finally just to summarise we had the best time in the best place with the best company. Simply The Best.
