We had a large party have a business dinner later this month. We are in a private room which was very nice. The service was great, and the food was very good. I had the scallops, and they were great. The tuna appetizer was also fabulous.

No one in our party of seven was impressed by the food. Unfortunately this restaurant popularity seems based on the chain promotion and approximate location to convention centers. My crab cake was mostly cake even after asking the wait staff if it was Maryland style (crab mostly) and told yes. The steak was cooked to temp, but the side vegetables were plain and typical and I had to upgrade to broccolini. Our dessert, which was truly an impulse purchase because they asked us early in the meal due to the bake time, the melting hot chocolate souffle was just a chocolate volcano cake done poorly with vanilla ice cream that lacked vanilla flavor. Disappointed for sure; I wonder if the good reviews are from folks in denial about spending that kind of money on a sub par meal....OR the night we went was a bad night. Of course there were issues with the check at the end of the night and the service was lacking on a slow night. Not likely to return and would not recommend.

We love to go to the special events at Roy's. This time we tried their Sake Dinner in hopes we could develop at least some appreciation of Sake. WOW. It was fantastic. For $55 each we got 5 courses and 4 glasses of Sake, and each and everything we drank and ate was just wonderful.

An appetizer of Chilled Buckwheat Soba Noodles with tofu and Sake was served with a Tyku Cucumber Sake, which was light, citrusy and refreshing.

Next they served a Japanese Hamachi soaked in Sake with a Joto Daiginjo Nakao Brewery Sake. Incredible fish and also a delicious Sake.

Next a herb roasted Wagyu Tri Tip that had been souvied for 48 hours and served with eggplant and Couscous, and a Eiko Fuji Honkara Dry Mountain Sake. The beef was beyond wonderful and the Sake was very robust, matching the beef perfectly.

Next Lobster, Kale and Quinoa with an Ozeki Junmai Sake. That Sake was a little lighter than the previous one, and very very good.

Finally we had a French Arborio Rice Pudding. Definitely the best rice pudding I have ever eaten.

It was a shame more people didn't try this dinner. The value was incredible. The original Roy's Chef and one of the founders of the restaurant flew here from Hawaii to cook this meal for us. He came out and talked to us about it. What a nice and very talented man.

Such fun. We have made good friends with some of the attendees at these dinners. There are great door prizes. You learn a lot. And after cocktails and 4 Sakes we were very happy we took Lyft to the restaurant.

Excellent service, the halibut is amazing. This is a pricier restaurant but great for a special occasion. I recommend making a reservation to avoid a seating delay.

This is an upscale eatery that serves Hawaiian fusion. Service was attentive but did tend to be on the slower side. We had to wait about 15 mins for our drink order to be filled. The wait staff answered our questions about the meals and ingredients and portions were generous. You do not rush at this restaurant. The decor is tasteful and not too noisy that you couldn't have a conversation. We shared 2 caesar salads between 4 of us. The dishes were split in the kitchen. There were 3 orders of Misoyaki butterfish which was thoroughly enjoyed. The fish cooked to perfection. I chose the jumbo tiger prawns which were devoured with gusto. We did not have dessert but as one of our group had a birthday, the staff brought a dish with different sherberts in it. There were children dining but I wouldn't say it was a "family" restaurant.
I would return for a special evening as it was a $$$$ price range.
