The Loft was a lovely place to stay for two people and Francine was a gracious and helpful host. She lives below the loft, so she's there if you need something, but wasn't intrusive at all. She gave us a lift to the flagstop train and was very helpful with recommendations. The Loft was clean and well equipped with a kitchen, and the only useful curtains (as in blocked out most of that midnight sun!) that we saw in six nights in Alaska. The Loft is about a 10 minute walk from the main part of Talkeetna, which was fine, in a nice shady place. Despite being near the airport with flightseeing tours going all day, we were never bothered by plane noise.
My only complaint is that when the weather is warm (which is was while we were there), the ventilation leaves a little to be desired. Having said that, there is a fan, but another window or vent that could be opened wouldn't go astray. This wouldn't be a problem for the majority of the year, and wasn't a huge deal for us.
The Loft was great, though a little on the expensive side, which is unfortunately par for the course in Alaska. This was the nicest, and most expensive place we stayed in Alaska and it was nice to round our trip out with a bit of luxury.
