Great place to stop when driving from Auckland to the Bay of Islands. Spacious, very comfortable, and clean. Well-appointed with lovely eye for detail. Friendly and informative welcome by Donna-Marie, excellent location across the road from a beautiful beach and only a few minutes' walk from the town centre. Able to park directly outside our room, good for getting luggage in and out.

Checked in overnight on our way up to Ahipara.
Like the Bolton and Tauranga on the Waterfront it has been refurbished but in a baroque slightly kitschy style.
It was pretty spacious, clean and had everything you needed for a comfy stay. However there is no vanity bench as such to put anything on.
The Hibiscus Highway is busy all day and all night but there is double glazing to lessen the impact. It is quiet enough to sleep with everything closed but would not be restful during the day if you want to sit outside.
The beach is across the road and shops and restaurants are an easy stroll away.

This was only a stop over to break journey from Bay of Islands to Coromandel so we didnt see much of town. However owner v helpful: gave recommendations for dinner. Room plenty large enough with good facilities. We were on first floor but could park car virtually outside.About 3/4 mile from main restaurant/bar/cafe part of town. Plenty of choice there.

Beach ( flat , shallow and long) is just across road and worth a stroll
