Popped in here for a coffee on Good Friday as it had outside tables in the morning sun.

Served by the manager who was a fairly friendly bloke and got a couple of decent sized and tasty moccachinos at a reasonable price.

Nice service and good value, what you'd expect from a town such as this but much appreciated thanks :)

We stayed here in June 2017, it was cold weather just before ski season but were there just to explore around the mountain in winter season and snow although we saw quite a few ski people around the town that were possibly going to ski on the Whakapapa ski which had just opened for the season. This place that we stayed seemingly has been hotel which is now converted to a budget accommodation. The people are lovely, the lady at the reception has a big smile and makes you feel welcome just at first glance, in fact all of them are really nice people. The room we got was spacious nice bed fresh and had a sink in the room but shared shower/bathroom which were very nice and clean.
Pros: They are lovely and friendly, their restaurant/self serviced kitchen facilities are also very nice and has view of the street, rooms are nice, beds are clean, they provide car park at the back of the property that has access door to the place which you can use any time of night. Cons: they turn off the heater after midnight and it gets cold at night so be prepared for that, the road traffic can get really loud at nigh I guess some very big truck drive past around 3-4 am.
All in all, we definitely recommend this place, we also stayed in a cabin at Top 10 Holiday park in Ohakune, can tell this place is much better and better value than the holiday park.

Room Tip: On the main road, just past i-Site when you drive towards east before the BP petrol station.

Stayed at The Clyde after completing the Tongariro Crossing. It is about the 45 minute drive from Ketetahi carpark, after the hike we almost wished we booked somewhere a little closer.. Anyway! The Clyde was nice and cheap, the hosts were lovely and very accomodating and even set up a heater in our room for our return. The shared bathroom and showers were very clean. Room was quite small but didn't bother us, we were just grateful to rest after a big day of hiking!

It was such a reasonable price for two nights stay, breakfast, lunch for Tongariro cossing as well as pick up service which I got from Grabone. I am not quite sure about the normal price so cannot tell it will be reasonable for someone just book the hotel without a deal. The room and the bathroom were very clean but a the bathroom was a little bit small for the size of accommodation. But it was totally fine as I went there in low season. The lunch was great.
But the wall is very thin I guess so mind that you better bring ear plugs for good night sleep. Apart from that it was good stay.
