This is a great choice. It's right on the beach and walking distance to good restaurants, bars and beach clubs. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The pool is huge and beautiful. The breakfast (included in our rate) was amazing. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. We had a great stay.
Absolutely beautiful hotel and a bit of an oasis in the loud and crowded Canggu. A very helpful staff. A tip, have your breakfast on the rooftop to get a great view of the ocean and the surfers. No need for a beach club for that! I appreciate the level of detail the hotel put into keeping mosquitos out (they light the coils outside your room and put some sort of plug in each day). We opted one night to watch for the Balinese dance show, which was very nice. My only bit of feedback was that the main pool and the pool in our room were both very cold.
The hotel is an exemplar of authentic Bali architecture. Staff is very polite and does everything to make your staying perfect. Never slept better! Both restaurants are very good and the breakfast is lovely. Unfortunately there are a couple of bars close to the hotel that can be noisy and ruin the Bali atmosphere but unfortunately Canggu and Bali in general is suffering for overturism. Tugu however remains an authentic Bali hotel attentive to local traditions and history and surely one of the best place to stay in Canggu and in Bali.
Our family of six attended an Indonesian cooking lesson (3 hours) in the garden of Hotel Tutu. It was one of the highlights of our holiday in Bali! The chef and his colleagues taught us in a very inspiring and fun way some traditional recipes, which he had learned from his grandmother. Can highly recommend!! Afterwards, we had 'our' recipes/food as lunch in the restaurant, where it was beautifully served to us.
Our stay at Hotel Tugu Bali in Canggu was truly magical! We spent 3 nights there to kick off our honeymoon. Our suite was unreal, perfectly decorated with Indonesian artwork and beautiful furniture. The air conditioning at Hotel Tugu was the best of all the hotels we stayed at during our 14 day itinerary in Bali, which was appreciated given the July heat. The outdoor tub and sauna like shower were also incredible - the pictures online didn’t even do it justice! We enjoyed the daily breakfast at the hotel (the breakfast congee was our favorite breakfast of all-time), and also did their Tanah Lot Sunset Tour and traditional cooking class. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend Hotel Tugu if you are visiting Bali!
