This is a well designed Villa laid out over three floors. It's position away from the beach is ideal and I will come back to that later.
The owner Anib whom we have rented a property from before is a nice helpful Chap, he provides the visitors with a local mobile phone in order to contact the housekeeper 'Molly' or a number of a couple of motor rickshaw drivers, whom when you establish a relationship over pick up times, proved to be reliable and trustworthy. These guys will quote you a price including waiting time outside the restaurant of your choice, they will wait as long as you like, I must caution you to get them to wait as we observed those who didn't have their rickshaw driver waiting for them having real troubles beachside as Kovalam does not have is a late night restaurant culture.
We found the upper floor roof terrace particularly nice to sit out on after returning from dinner.
The villa is a haven away from the beach and it's busy restaurants, the passing village life can be observed from the upper floors which also give a view over the coast in the distance.
We found that certainly in March when we spent three weeks there that there is definitely a drop in the humidity as you return to the villa from beachside.
We rented a lightweight motor cycle from Molly's husband for the time we were there as you need independant transport to go to the shops during daylight hours. I would advise anyone to use the local rickshaw guys in the evening as you can then safely have a drink with your meal as well as avoid the after dark road conditions which only locals can negotiate safely.
If you want to observe kovalam villages where the locals live, in a well serviced and supported villa and only be a few minutes away from the beaches this is the villa for you.
