We contracted for a long term lease, had problems from the start. Dishwasher did not work, washer/dryer did not work, upstairs terrace leaked water through downstairs kitchen lights. One grounded outlet in kitchen, blew up our Dish receiver, wifi very slow, did not work well upstairs. Clogged plumbing caused no hot water in the showers at all until we asked for a water filter, which we had to pay for. The shower door exploded while taking a shower, blamed it on us until we proved the glass was installed improperly, plus never replaced the glass, so only had one shower for three months. Outside stairs up to the second floor leaked water all over the downstairs floor every time it rained, plus raccoons would show up in the kitchen most nights because it is open to the outside. Upstairs bedroom ceiling space had bats that would be up all night running around in ceiling, even leaked bat guano through the ceiling in the upstairs bathroom. After we tried to get all the amenities listed in the lease fixed, the American owner kicked us out, as he did not want to spend any money to fix problems. We stayed in four vacation rentals while looking for retirement property, this was by far the most expensive, with no maintenance. The monkeys used the pool for their bathroom because the tree branches all hang over the pool which meant the pool was not clean. Most of the time it was green, not like the picture, which they blamed on the rain!!! The managers did the best job that they could, but dealing with an American owner who only was interested in rent, not repair made their job impossible. We have been in another long term vacation rental with a beautiful pool for over a year, any problems are fixed immediately, plus the rent is half of what we paid for Xanadu rental. Pictures are old, even the wood steps into the front door were falling apart, I fell through a rotten step, renter beware!!!! There are so many beautiful places to stay, keep this one off your list. Also it is not ocean front, it takes about fifteen minutes to find and walk the path to the beach, you also have many locals stopping by the gate trying to sell you something.
