We were looking for a tour company to collect us from our cruise ship in Costa Rica. We wanted to go ziplining but the cruise ship excursions were too expensive. After doing a bit of research and reading reviews from trip advisor I contacted SYL travel. Lots of friendly emails and a deposit paid through PayPal we were looking forward to our tour.

We arrived at the port of Limon and were met by the SYL Travel company in their red t shirts. We were introduced to Enrique. A young 19 year old. He was to be our tour guide.

Enrique gave us lots of local information about Costa Rica. Very informative. We then went to Jungle Breeze Zipline where there was only 8 or 9 people so no long queues. Enrique waited for us while we Ziplined

We then went to the Tortuguero Canal for a boat trip. On the way Enrique gave us more information along the way and let us try a fresh cocoa bean which he opened for us. Yuk! He then opened a bag of sweet cocoa treats. 3 of those is equal to a coffee shot so we were told.

After our trip he took us back to the cruise terminal in plenty of time to board the ship. I can safely say Enrique is a lovely guy, smart, bright with a great future ahead of him. We felt very at ease with him as our tour guide.

Highly recommended and would use SYL Travel again.

This was our first time in Costa Rica and I am happy we chose to spend it with Syl. Our guide Larry was an enthusiastic promoter for his country and city.

We did the zip line and canal tour and with extra time to spare before heading back to the ship, Larry showed us a few extra sights, took us to a local restaurant (best fish I've eaten in my life!), and stopped by a fruit stand to try a variety of bananas and exotic fruit.

We had a FABULOUS day and cant wait to return for a longer visit to Costa Rica.

Roxanne and driver (sorry that I can't remember his name) were very knowledgeable and informative on our inexpensive tour of Limon, Costa Rica. We saw a banana plantation (no tours though), a sloth, and a whole lot more in 2-3 hours. They took us to an open air, beautiful beach front restaurant that was fun and had a drum player/singer. Be sure to bring your camera and a bottle of water.

We did a spur of the moment customized tour with Ron Lobo. He turned out to be one of the most knowlegable and personable tour guides we have ever had. This man's knowledge of native plants was amazing. We learned so much about the country, it's people and the rich ecosystem.
He was able to customize the tour according to our interests and the time frame. He made us want to come back and see more!

We booked the 6-1-A tour online with Syl Travel with a $100 deposit & the rest paid at the dock pick up. We were met by Enrique & pleasantly surprised to see that our group of 4 would be a private tour. Our first stop was the sloth sanctuary which was very interesting & highly informative. After which we were taken on a canoe ride where we saw sloths in their natural habitat & also a Toucan. The next stop was outside the banana plantation (no tours allowed) & then off to Cahuita National Park where saw Howler & Cappuccino monkeys & even a humming bird nest. The last stop was at a fruit stand/souvenir shop where the land owner gave us samples of his freshly grown fruits. I suggest you purchase your souvenirs/CR coffee at this stop. After which we headed back to the port & was given the option to stop & wander around the town of Puerto Limon. After a long day; we declined & opted to go back onboard. Our guide Enrique was a charming knowledgeable young guide; very personable & we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. I highly recommend SylTravel & would do another tour with them.
