“Great place, Great location, Great memories!”
Reviewed 5 June 2011 for a stay in May 2011

This villa is truly wonderful. It was the perfect house for our group of 30 year-olds who came to get away and celebrate our friendship in Costa Rica. We initially found the house on tripadvisor.com, and the pictures did not do it justice. When we arrrived at the house, we were pleasantly surprised, as it exceeded our expectations. It was really nice to have a private pool, which was cleaned every other day. The maid came once over the 7 days we were there, and that was just enough. It's a short walk down to the beach, which gives spectacular sunsets. A small convenience store is just down the street. The walk into downtown Tamarindo will probably take most active adults about 20-30 minutes. We mostly took cab rides down and back, which were about $5 US one way. Bob, the property manager, was excellent in helping us with arrangements for the week. He picked us up at the Tamarindo airport (we flew in on Nature Air from San Jose), and took us straight to the grocery store to stock up our kitchen at the villa. It was greatly appreciated. He also organized our day trip to Rincon de la Vieja, and the Tamarindo Esturary tour for us. Very nice. Very hospitable. You won't be sorry with this choice!

“Nice- But could be better.”

Our stay at this villa had some positives and negatives...
First, Bob arranged a pick up for us at the airport, which was very nice. Unfortunately, the shuttle's air conditioning broke right before we got there. No biggie, we were just excited to be CR! We arrived at the villa and were greeted by Bob. He gave us a tour of the villa and then offered to take us to the SuperMacado(grocery store). This was great, we got to pick up some things to use for our week. We discovered that the air conditioners were not working 100 percent, but that was fixed with some tweaking.
We quickly made our way to the beach. This villa does have the best location for surfing, an amazing sunset, and a beautiful stretch of beach. We will definitely stay in Langosta Beach again!
Somethings that we were disappointed about were the cleanliness of the bed linens. The master bedroom's blanket had stains on the top and then to my dismay was very dirty underneath. In addition, the sheets did not feel clean. After three days, the maid did come and change the sheets. You could clearly feel and smell the difference. However, the bedspread stayed the same. I felt like this was in complete contradiction with the rest of the villa. The rest of the villa was clean and very neat. There was anything you would need in the kitchen, the wifi worked most of the time, and it was quite nice to have a little rinse off area outside of the villa. The pool was great! There were two days where the pool pump didn't appear to be on and the pool wasn't as clean. The maintenance guy fixed that promptly.
The thing that was the most disappointing about our week at the villa, was the problem with the water. For the last 3 days of our time at the villa, we went from no water, little water, no water upstairs, little water, to very low water pressure. Apparently, there was a problem with the water pump. Bob responded to these problems by sending out several maintenance people. Each one said it was fixed, but alas, we ended our trip with very very low water pressure. Interestingly, right outside the villas, maintenance people were busy spraying the street and had excellent water pressure.
Finally, we were very sad to find that an ipod shuffle "went missing" from the coffee table while we were at dinner the last evening.
Other things to consider: the beach club is nice, but a quite a walk if your carrying alot or have small children. The walk to town is on a rock/dirt road, but is delightful in the early am. And it is worth the walk to get coffee at Olga's. The security guys dont understand much english, but were very willing and helpful in procuring taxi's. Our shuttle guy (Tim) provided us with a lot of helpful hints and was overall entertaining. He even made a pit-stop for us to get some "drinks". After a long day flying and then the long wait to get out of the airport- this was very nice!
The morning of our departure we awoke to the lovely smell of molasses. They put it on the streets to keep the dust down. (Oh yeah, its dusty.. The streets are dirt and rock.) Tim our shuttle guy arrived on time and his air conditioning fixed. We left as the sun was rising and with the thought that we would certainly be coming back to Tamarindo.

“Fantastic Family Get Away near Tamarindo”
Reviewed 7 October 2010 for a stay in January 2010

We stayed in this beautiful villa for 3 weeks and had our dream holiday in Costa Rica! The villa is in superb condition. You enter a guarded gate into a lovely courtyard with the soothing sound of water flowing along the center isle. We had another couple and our 6 month old baby sleep comfortably in this spacious villa. We spent many of the hot afternoons lounging by our private pool in the back yard while our child played safely. We were able to surf the best breaks just steps away from our villa across the street. And we enjoyed the shopping and dining that Tamarindo had to offer, located only a 5 minute drive down the road. The service and staff were second to none. With maid service and pool cleaning every other day, the villa remained in perfect condition our entire stay.
The Beach Club is an impressive newly built facility and a great bonus with this villa. We enjoyed the complimentary gym and infinity pool and exclusive access on the highly sought after beach front of Tamarindo. The staff are very helpful and really made us feel at home during out stay. We are looking forward to going back again next year!
