Incredible experience. Bull Sharks, Tawny Nurse Sharks, Goliath grouper. Dive was well led by Axel. Felt safe 100% of the time.
Great experience, very relaxed Fijian divers who keep every one safe and relaxed. This dive is a must do for anyone who is a keen diver. You cannot get a closer to such a phenomenonal display of sharks in the open. We has 25+ bull sharks, 3 or 4 nurse sharks, a silver tip, NZ grouper and countless tropical fish including a moray eel! I can't rave about this enough. Gear was all tidy and well kept, the briefing was thorough, and there was a really cool element of conservation and re-education around sharks and there actual behaviours. 10 out 10.
super professional company, kind owners and staff. i did my scuba license with this company. Tim my dive instructor was so super. at the beginn i was more nervous then by the shark dive and felt myself unconfortable. tim was allways quiet and cared me to get comfortobale. he did every thing to my enjoyed. After license completing i booked also 2 shark dive with this company. the shark dive was so overwhelmed. i've been zero second nervous by the sharkdive, because this company knows what they do. super professional and harmfull with the enviroment. face to face with the sharks that was an experience what i will never forgot. Just to recommended.
Did the two-tank shark dive and the two-tank soft coral dive the next day—both very memorable and enjoyable. Had some reservations about doing the shark dive, but we’re soooo glad we did it!! I once said I’d never dive with bull sharks and now I’ve dove with 30 of them and have a much deeper appreciation for these incredible animals. It was honestly one of the coolest experiences of my life. And, the owners are great and accompanied us on the shark dive—they’re very passionate about marine life and conservation. I felt completely safe the entire time and surprisingly used very little air since I was so calm. The briefings were thorough and educational. If you’re on the fence, don’t be—just do it! :)
My partner and I are experienced divers (250-300 dives) but you don’t need to be. They take beginners too, on both the shark and coral dives. Our shark dives had 4 guests and 5 crew members in the water. Our coral dives had 7 guests and 2 guides, including three beginners.
We took our GoPro on the shark dive but (understandably) they have guidelines on what you can wear and take on the dive (e.g., no strobes or lights, no bright fins or gear). They have nice gear that they’ll lend you at no additional cost if needed. We were thankful for the extra wetsuit protection on the shark dives since you’re not moving around and could get cold wearing only a 3 mm.
If we had more time on our trip we would have done more coral dives since the two dive sites we did see were spectacular. Some of the swim throughs were just dripping with colourful soft corals, and there were a lot of fish too. It’s a beautiful area, both above and below the surface. Big thank you to Coral Coasts for sharing their backyard paradise with us!
I booked the 6 dive package via there website and I do not regret it. Alex has a good and professional team and they are all very kind to you. Alex has an incredible knowledge about the sharks and also about diving and he is happy to share that knowledge with you! So if you have any questions about sharks or about diving (theorie) Alex can probably answer these questions.
The shark dive is worth a trip but I recommend to try it during the summer season because of the amount of sharks you will see (according to Alex up to 100 sharks). During autumn and winter less sharks will appear but the dive is still pretty spectacular!
The coral dives are not as good as on other parts in fiji but it is still pretty nice to dive under some coral "bridges". Instead of a coral dive you can also go on a wreck dive and see some old sunken fish boats.
Also if the weather isn´t in your favour, they will tell you honestly if it is safe or not to go out diving and if not they will arrange something for another day.
I did the shark and soft coral dives with Coral Coast in May 2024. The Shark dive was the absolute best and felt very safe the entire time, especially given that it was my first ever dive after certification. Special mention to Petero aka Pedro, the best dive master and completely in control underwater. While all the people are great, a lot of the equipment malfunctioned so make sure to complete all check before jumping in.
