If you are looking for that local Fijian experience. Wayalailai is the place! Beautiful island, beautiful people and amazing local Fijian food. 🫶 Out of all the islands I visited it also had the BEST hike where you can see sunrise & sunset. Great for solo travellers and also perfect for family’s. There is limited phone reception giving you that perfect escape to enjoy the island vibes. You can dive, snorkel, learn weaving, local village tour & more. Highly recommend!!

We were there for a week and had a fantastic time. The snorkeling is great. The food was really good. The staff and the singing was outstanding. Mela and Seko went so far out of their way to make our stay at the resort the best it could possibly be. Thank you :)

Had such a fantastic and relaxing holiday here for 6 beautiful days. As a small island with limited guests you often find yourself and your partner relaxing on a beach or snorkelling by yourselves. The snorkelling is amazing! Turtles, sharks, octopus, hundreds of different beautiful fish, it is incredible and only a few meters from the beach! The facilities are great, staff are so warm and friendly. Wonderful spot for a honeymoon or just a romantic escape 💛☀️. We did the trip to Castaway island and it was stunning well worth it! (Maybe needs to be longer?) snorkelling trip was well worth it too, as we went out to the drop off to see the turtles.

Only feedback would be it could be more Eco-friendly, more recycling, leave animals in there natural habitat; they were very good on the island as it is a marine sanctuary, but when we went to Castaway island they found the iguana (so cool!) but then the picked it up and people took photos with it on their heads. It would have been better just to view its beauty in its natural environment 🌴

Overall, wonderful trip would recommend going here to anyone.

Spent a wonderful 6 nights on Matamanoa which was our first trip to Fiji. Incredible scenery and amazing beaches. The island itself is quite small and feels very secluded. Our beachfront villa was quite new and had excellent decor. Spent a lot of time just relaxing in our pool or on our day bed.

The staff were lovely and made a great effort to welcome everyone. Food selection was a tiny bit limited but was always tasty. The main part of the resort with the restaurant and bar is small but very beautiful. We took tours to a local village and the island where Cast Away was filmed. These were really nice and intimate, with only a few people and the guides being very relaxed and genuine. The day spa was also amazing! Lovely setting high over the sea and very relaxing.

Overall we had a wonderful time! Was really worth spending a bit extra to be staying off the mainland. You get to see the real beauty of Fiji every day and are away from the crowds. Was particualrly lovely to go to a place like Matamanoa as a couple. The ultimate romantic getaway!

We spent the first week in Fiji on a family island to attend a 40th birthday and then moved onto a adult only island of Matamanoa. We were both extremely happy when we arrived on Matamanoa Island.
The staff are very friendly and constantly make you feel like you are special. The resort is constantly being kept up to date rather than waiting till it is in dire need to do so.
Being a remote island the food & drink cost is on the high side but it was great to have a new dinner menu everyday. If you haven't visited remote islands you must know this is very rare and typically you get the same menu time & time again.
The welcome & the farewell on Matamanoa is excellent along with the cultural night.
We a holiday a year scuba diving a new place every year and this one is a great place to visit. The island is a marine resort and should be advertised more as one.
Great to see new species and have my partner do her first night dive.
If you are a person who wishes to learn to dive or increase their skills this would be a great place to do so.
Deep Blue Diving & Watersports would have to be the most professional and safety conscious organisations I have ever dived with around the world. After many years of diving (over 3000 dives) I found it excellent to have an organisation that makes sure a buddy check is completed.
The team were very friendly and hospitable. I only wish I learnt another skill while I visited.
We may have to visit again.

The place is a paradise, an island in the middle of nowhere and the resort is the only place therein.

Rooms are big and fashion, with small outside pool and just 2 meters from the beach.

You can enjoy privacy if you want and good company as well.

Lots of things to do and sport activities, you do not have time to get bored even in case you are an active person like myself.

The staff is warm and friendly, especially people at the e emotion and the entertainers. The only bad thing is the service at the restaurant: kind but slow and they never bring you what you ask which made people a bit upset.. Really something to work on.

In any event, at the end highly recommended.
