We had a mostly lovely stay at The Tides. I booked a side view king room with a balcony and it was fine for us. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. It was also nice having a small sofa for sitting and watching tv (when it rained).

Breakfast was very nice with a number of choices. We enjoyed the waffles, but really, why do you have to ask for the sugar free syrup? I would have rather had almond milk instead of soy milk. Eating breakfast watching the waves roll in to the beach is very nice!

The pool is lovely and towels are readily available at the front desk. The beach is very nice and chairs and umbrellas are available to rent.

My one complaint is that housekeeping was not very thorough in attention to our room. First day was fine, but the second day all they did was sort of make the bed and give us clean towels. They forgot the extra roll of toilet paper, toiletries, and to replenish the coffee. We got along okay, but for the price we paid for the room and that this is a top of the line BW property I expected better.

Loved the Tides. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The view from the lobby and breakfast area was amazing. Breakfast was good, waffles, bacon, potatoes, eggs, etc. pretty typical, the staff was constantly refilling empty dishes. We had a side view room, with the balcony facing west. We had nice views of the beach but also of the road. We didn’t hear the traffic noise with the door closed. Overall it was perfect. Shaded areas and a bar by the pool and great beach. Umbrellas are rented through different vendors and were $30. There’s a nearby Publix and Walmart. The tides had guest laundry facilities and a BBQ area. It would be great for families.

The lobby is beautiful. It is largely windows on 3 sides with a breathtaking view of the ocean and pier. Continental breakfast is good. If I could change anything, it would be real maple syrup (there was only chemical pancake syrup) and ketchup without high fructose corn syrup. Otherwise, on most days, they serve waffles, toast, baked goods, milk, juice, eggs, sausage, bacon, grits, oatmeal, yogurt parfaits, and cereals. The room was very nice, clean, and new looking. The closet has plenty of storage spaces. The shower was spotless. The beds were very comfortable and clean. There were a couple stains on the comforters, but it was pretty negligible. Housekeeping was friendly and very quick.
The mini fridge didn't keep things very cold, which was frustrating because we had breastmilk with us. There was no dial to adjust the temperature.
The balcony had two chairs and a small table. We had partial view of the gulf, which was pretty. We faced the empty lot next to the building.
The cooling unit in the room worked great! The elevator system moved quickly.
The pool and bar area was nice. The chairs could use a good scrubbing though. There was also sunblock residue and oil floating in two corners of the pool. The bathrooms at the pool were clean and nice. The chairs in the shallow area of the pool were very comfortable; there are only four of them. They sit right next to fountains. The drinks at the bar were very expensive. For a nonalcoholic margarita and daiquiri, it cost $17.50. I feel like nonalcoholic beverages should be cheaper, but that's me. I did hear two people ask the bartender if the pool was a public pool, and she let them in. That was kind of upsetting to us as guests because we PAY for those amenities. I feel like the doors should be watched more closely to avoid this. Too, there weren't that many places to lay out or sit. Good thing we preferred the beach!
The beach is beautiful and clean. The water is clean and clear. They are very friendly and concerned with the beach wildlife, which I appreciate. We saw cute little crabs at night! We also saw stingrays swimming in the waves, too!
We did have our beach chairs stolen. We left them at the hotel outside of our room and they were gone the next morning.
There are several restaurants located nearby. There is also a publix and Walmart minutes from the tides, so very convenient. A lot of restaurants have outdoor play areas.
We spent more than we intended for the stay and food, but we would stay again!

The nearby state park area is great for biking and walking. This hotel is close to the trail entrances. It's new and clean. Parking was easy. The lobby and breakfast area had floor to ceiling windows looking out over the wide pristine beach. Beautiful! We had a room with a balcony overlooking the beach. It was bright and clean with good beds. We plan to go back.

Room Tip: You can't beat the rooms overlooking the beach
