Jonker Street (Jalan Hang Jebat) is the Main Street in Chinatown and is accessed from Dutch Square straight across the river bridge. It is a UNESCO world heritage site with Peranakan style shop/houses, many which have been refurbished into restaurants and shops. Well worth spending time walking this street.

From the weekend onwards, in the evening the street will be buzzing with night markets. Many stores and interesting things to see. You can always get street food from the carts along the way. Must visit place if you're ever in Melaca.

Vendors display their wares on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights but even during the week, the shops are good to stroll and shopping is nice. Definitely a must do on the weekend nights though!
